I'm going to take a long shower, a long lunch, and a very long sleep. I am not going to sit here obsessing over TWEETS! (but hopeful!)

am i hallucinating or did she just flat out confirm it :o ?

You're not. Unless she has mistakenly convinced herself (self-indoc? lol) that red is the only 'survival' ending, that pretty much does it, for me.

what if she really doesn't know, and just convinced herself that indoctrination is true for our sake.  She could be nothing more than another fan at this point, speculating with the rest of us.  "Choose red and go get her" is no more than one of us talking to each other, convinced that indoctrination is true.

You realize in the context of this statement it's implying that the choices actually happened. Thus you have to save her from that planet. Which would more or less collapse this theory.

Be careful abotu reading too much into statements.

Doubt it. She's made several tweets about how she thinks a certain ending is correct because that is how she sees it. Most likely she's telling the person to make up the rest of the ending.

We shouldn't have to make it up :crying:

From the iPad app

Mac Walters on the Star Child/Reapers
"Originally, with the catalyst, the star child at the end of the game, I had written that much more in the guise of a investigative style conversation, where there is something he tells you but then, you get to ask a bunch of questions and you get your questions answered. But then me and Casey talked and decided, lets keep the conversation "High level". Give you the details that you need to know, but don't get into the stuff that you don't need to know. Like "How long have they been reaping?" You don't need to know the answers to the mass effect universe. So we intentionally left those out"

On Deciding the End of the Game
The illusive man boss fight had been scrapped... but there was still much debate. 'One night walters scribbled down some thought on various ways the game could end with the line "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" at the bottom of the page.'

In truth the final bits of dialogue were debated right up until the end of 2011. Martin sheen's voice-over session for the illusive man, originally scheduled for August, was delayed until mid-November so the writers would have more time to finesse the ending.

And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement alongside dialogue choices).

-

Very well then, no aftermath, just intentionally left blanks, unintentionally bad
The theory will always be true in my heart

Someone's majorly behind on everything. Mayhaps go check Jessica Merizan's Twitter? Or just read the last two or three pages of this thread.

I just woke up, care to breif me on what happened?

Jessica has basically said that this app people keep quoting is not necessarily gospel truth, and also that what it says does not actually disprove the Indoctrination theory at all.

Negative. Justified by saying save her in yoru mind. open interpretation etc etc

Oh gads.  I really hope this isn't a "Choose your own adventure" ending.

So a few days ago a few member in the Kaidan thread were discussing what the Normandy crashing in a jungle, beachy, paradise looking planet could mean. They came to the conclusion that in Shepards mind as she/he is dying or being fully controlled, is that Shepard is putting the people she most cares about in a safe haven. The beach seems like a recurring theme in the game with characters mentioning it.

Mordin- saying he'll retire to the beach and study sea shells
Thane- prays to the Goddess of oceans and in his letter if romanced says...I will await you across the sea
Garrus- mentions a tropical place
James- mentions a bar in Rio or something like that
Jacob- talks about the Meditteranean
Kaidan- says something about owning or parents owning beachfront property
Tali- in Rannoch after joining Geth and Quarians, Shepard asks if she will shop for a new house and Tali says "Beach front property"

Don't know if other characters mention it that I have noticed.

So in Shepard's last moments she wishes and imagines all her friends safe in that beach, tropical place eveyone talked about.

*all these speculations came from the Kaidan thread especially from frylock23, so it didn't come from me*

But don't they make some sense to the Normandy crashing in this paradise planet with your LI and people you had fighting alongside you back on Earth?

You are soooo right!!

At this point if they add post-ending DLC I believe it will only be as damage control.

If Jessica is being less vague about it now, it's because her boss told her to be, because her boss' boss is starting to get worried.

So...**** them if they beat around the bush...and **** them if they do their best to relay the concept without breaking NDA?

Yeah, that's a great way to go about it...

No
Just a pity, is all

Translations of Merizan's twitter posts:

* The endings were meant to be this way.
* They are not going to change.
* Indoc. theory is up to you. Deliberately vague to make it a possibility.

"Lots of speculation!" "It's art!" Yeah, it might have been art, if in another series specifically geared for it, of if executed properly. Which it was not. The mindscrew never climaxed.

I think I'm finally tired of being jerked around. I've re-entered the anger stage of grief now. :(

Thinking it all was fake is even worse than the ending itself. I mean the anding was unconclusive and depressing but it had its pros. Everybody just focuses in the bad things.  There was still enough win in the endings to keep me from killing myself.

Yet in several other tweets she claims that she chose the color green twice. Either that's her favorite color or she connected some dots and found that was her favorite ending. Is this not an example of making our own closure ourselves? I mean, I personally hope this is true, but even if it isn't, I'll still be somewhat satisfied.

The more I read those tweets the more I think that her goal is to string everyone along. Today's final hours quotes pretty much destroys this theory, unfortunately.

She confirmed the Indoc theory is crap, yes. Red is the only one you survive meaning the only one you'd physically be able to go find Tali. The endings are real.
