So a few days ago a few member in the Kaidan thread were discussing what the Normandy crashing in a jungle, beachy, paradise looking planet could mean. They came to the conclusion that in Shepards mind as she/he is dying or being fully controlled, is that Shepard is putting the people she most cares about in a safe haven. The beach seems like a recurring theme in the game with characters mentioning it.
Mordin- saying he'll retire to the beach and study sea shells
Thane- prays to the Goddess of oceans and in his letter if romanced says...I will await you across the sea
Garrus- mentions a tropical place
James- mentions a bar in Rio or something like that
Jacob- talks about the Meditteranean
Kaidan- says something about owning or parents owning beachfront property
Tali- in Rannoch after joining Geth and Quarians, Shepard asks if she will shop for a new house and Tali says "Beach front property"
Don't know if other characters mention it that I have noticed.
So in Shepard's last moments she wishes and imagines all her friends safe in that beach, tropical place eveyone talked about.
*all these speculations came from the Kaidan thread especially from frylock23, so it didn't come from me*
But don't they make some sense to the Normandy crashing in this paradise planet with your LI and people you had fighting alongside you back on Earth?
This is actually pretty interesting. Also, at least with Synthesis, Joker and EDI look abnormally happy. They're not going to be happy that they crashed into a random planet, and have no idea what happened back on Earth, or the status of Shepard, or why the hell a big bolt of energy was chasing them.

Also EDI's eye-thing changing color makes me think - I mean, we only see it in the green ending, but her glasses turn green...and they're red during the entire game...OBVIOUSLY SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES:P

@JessicaMerizan If only one of those implications wasn't that Tali was stranded on a mysterious planet w/o Shepard... 8
@Dr_Endless so choose red and go save her
am i hallucinating or did she just flat out confirm it?
Doubt it. She's made several tweets about how she thinks a certain ending is correct because that is how she sees it. Most likely she's telling the person to make up the rest of the ending.
Actually she words her stament as if she believes only red is the good ending...
Yet in several other tweets she claims that she chose the color green twice. Either that's her favorite color or she connected some dots and found that was her favorite ending. Is this not an example of making our own closure ourselves? I mean, I personally hope this is true, but even if it isn't, I'll still be somewhat satisfied.
@[/s]JessicaMerizan[/b] I think red is my fave. Why oh why do we have to sacrifice the Geth & EDI though
@[/s]CmdrOwenShepard[/b] Well, depending on what you think of the Guardian, maybe it wasn't being truthful?

@ReanKnopke @NicolaiAntonov uh they did not go through a Mass Relay - the one in the sol system is WAY too far away!
AHHHHH
Wa wa wa!! I don't even....
Wait. What? That's... impossible. The nearest star system from us is a hell of a lot further than Charon. So that means it's in our own solar system. Except Earth is the only planet in our system that can support plant life like that. And Earth is a moon short to be that planet.

From the iPad app
Mac Walters on the Star Child/Reapers
"Originally, with the catalyst, the star child at the end of the game, I had written that much more in the guise of a investigative style conversation, where there is something he tells you but then, you get to ask a bunch of questions and you get your questions answered. But then me and Casey talked and decided, lets keep the conversation "High level". Give you the details that you need to know, but don't get into the stuff that you don't need to know. Like "How long have they been reaping?" You don't need to know the answers to the mass effect universe. So we intentionally left those out"
On Deciding the End of the Game
The illusive man boss fight had been scrapped... but there was still much debate. 'One night walters scribbled down some thought on various ways the game could end with the line "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" at the bottom of the page.'
In truth the final bits of dialogue were debated right up until the end of 2011. Martin sheen's voice-over session for the illusive man, originally scheduled for August, was delayed until mid-November so the writers would have more time to finesse the ending.
And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement alongside dialogue choices).
-
Very well then, no aftermath, just intentionally left blanks, unintentionally bad
The theory will always be true in my heart
Someone's majorly behind on everything. Mayhaps go check Jessica Merizan's Twitter? Or just read the last two or three pages of this thread.
I just woke up, care to breif me on what happened?
Jessica has basically said that this app people keep quoting is not necessarily gospel truth, and also that what it says does not actually disprove the Indoctrination theory at all.
hence, she is not saying anything. Not trying to be a brat but we have all been down this road...pinning our hopes on inconsequential hyperbole
Oh yeah, I agree. People are getting a bit too worked up over her tweets. All she's really done here is say the Indoctrination theory is still valid. So hopefully some of the haters will shut up about the new app disproving it. But she's really just trying to leave all interpretations open to us, not confirm one or the other is correct.

OK, they've made direct comments that could be explained away by "oh well the ending has deep consequences in an artistic way, that's what I meant." This is the first time the Guardian is explicitly called out. Wow.
