The following is icing on the cake:
When the citadel opens its arms, there is zero gravity where they are situated..This means outer space, so how are they walking about? How are they even talking? Outer space has no air, which is the medium for sound.
Also, they'd be frozen in actuality, and the only plausible place where all of this would happen is in a dream/vision, free of all physical limitations. When the Citadel opens its arms in ME1 and you're fighting to get to Sovereign, you're wearing your entire space helmet and you can notice the 0 gravity effect, suggestive of outer space..
That can actually be countered: if I remember correctly, it is said somewhere that the Citadel has massive mass effect fields that create artificial gravity and create a breathable atmosphere.
That said, it doesn't discount the theory, however.
Curious tho, at the end of mass effect 1:
There is gravity in the elevator, but once exiting the elevator gravity seems to cease to be, yet once one reaches the tower, there is gravity again. Leading me to believe that if there is some field that used to induce gravity, it extends only to the surface of the structure, not outside of it.
Although, to play devils advocate, Shephard and Garrus do go to the top of presidium tower for "target practice" at one point in ME3. The use of breathing gear or mag boots is not implied or shown.
The Garrus/Shepard scene was on the huerta memorial hospital. Inside the presidium (the ring). There is always atmosphere.

Was it? I havent played the game since I beat it a week ago, guess my attempts to block out the ending have resulted in some collateral damage
My mistake.

Thank you.
I've been saying this the entire time.
That's one of the clearest arguments in our theory. But people still think it was real
Outer space has no air, which is the medium for sound.
Good to know.

Yeah, I think it falls under "could go either way" so I don't think it can be counted as evidence towards the Indoctrination theory, but then again, it doesn't go against it either.

But still in the Presidium.

While we wait for official news, I'm going to install and beat the ME1. At least the plot held together.
While Mass Effect 1 had good story and amazing atmosphere, I can't replay it anymore, not after being spoiled by ME3's gameplay.
So instead, I started a new game +. In addition, the multiplayer is tons of fun, so I can see it occupying most of my free time for the next several months.

And still no one from BW responded in this thread. But I think they just want to wait until more people finished the game before saying something specific. At least I hope so.

Yes, they have stated so in twitter and here. They are waiting until most of the player-base has finished the game.

This. I struggled to replay ME1 after beating ME2 and loving it. Now I find it hard to go back to ME2 because your character looks different in ME2 compared to ME3, unless I create a new dude and have to replay ME1 (ugh).
Starting New Game + too! Have regular multiplayer matches with a group of buds so all good there.

I am able to play ME1 as a standalone game, as which it excels greatly.
But true, seeing the end of the journey, setting on it doesn't look AS promising.
But still a lot of fun.

Unfortunately people spoiled the ending long before ME3 was even released... this is a spoiler friendly forum regardless.
