They are perfect mirrors of each other, something that wouldn't happen in a normal situation like that, hinting at something is definitely up with the area.

I see... Interesting indeed.

Also, as was mentioned in the original time it was brought up, the right side is reversed. Then, when you get to the end point the right side(destroy, which is what you set out to do) shows the major paragon that is Anderson destroying the reapers, but is portrayed as red/renegade, and given a very strong point against it with the all-synthetics-die part.

Never thought of the options that way, as being reversed. I found it odd that there were light blue and red for Paragon and Renegade, but the implications didn't really strike me until I started browsing through this thread.

So what would that make the middle option? The ultimate goal of the Reapers? They had a serious vested interest in Shepard alone so perhaps the Synthesis option was their way of tricking Shepard into giving up what made him/her so damn impossible for the Reapers to get rid of? After all, if Harbinger is the leader, he REALLY had it out for Shepard after ME2

I dunno, I'm grasping at random thermal clips here.

I think the whole "all non-Destroy endings are the "player" falling victim to the "indoctrination" claim is utter BS. It just wouldn't make sense from any perspective.

So which non-destroy ending did you pick, and what's it like being indoctrinated? :P

He is fighting reason like TIM did in the crucible :P, seriously tho, people saying that it doesnt make sense needs to give explanations on why, its only a theory right now so proving it wrong is a good thing...if you can that is :)

So if TIM represents the Reapers Indoc, and Anderson represents Shepard's will that could explain why TIM was so effed up with Cybernetics and half-husk when the one time we saw him before, he was normal, just really old and tired looking. And that could explain why Anderson is wavering and shaking like he is and why he's saying so many Shepard-like lines.

Just watched the ending a few times more over, just something else I caught in regards to the mirroring.

Or that the reaper horns sound like the soundtrack from Inception?

I FIGURED IT OUT!! So Shepard gets knocked out running towards the beam on Earth and has a dream, then he goes to the Citadel and passes out right next to the console and has ANOTHER DREAM,

IT IS INCEPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So wait, so March 15th the ending DLC might come out, because 1m1 = 1 + 13 + 1 = 15?

I like this theory.

If it's a dream , and the dlc allows you to get the real ending.I simply refuse to buy , because in this case it means Bioware has purposely cut content out of a full game.I'd rather watch that ending somewhere than pay dlc money for something that (already paid for) and should have been in the game and on the disc.

I'm all for dlc when it makes sense , but if this is the case Bioware has gone Too Far! Sorry I just can't shell out money for locked content that should have been available from the start.

Saying this again to further blow some minds:

If you take too long making your choice the crucible is destroyed and you get a critical mission failure. But if you were on the crucible it would explode around you, but it doesn't. And that's because you are still on earth fighting your indoctrination. The actual crucible is destroyed before it can be activated.

Once again Joker: What the ****! Holy ****!

I'm not getting your point...

The crucible is still in system when harbinger flies down. When Harbinger hits you with the laser you are knocked for a loop, but time is still going by. The Crucible is waiting for the Citadel arms to open. The fleets can't delay the reapers from attacking the crucible indefinitely. If you take too long to accept indoctrination, or fight it off  (The three choices)  the reapers will have destroyed the actual crucible before it could dock and be activated.
If you were actually on the crucible and it gets detroyed why doesn't it explode around you. It doesn't because you aren't actually there.

I'm going to need a video showcasing this nonstandard game over.

@Ghost:

No, but BioWare gave you a living, breathing chance to see what it would be like. If you chose to Destroy, then you fought indoctrination. If you chose other, then you, the player, were indoctrinated.

Doesnt it remind you of what saren said on vermire in the first ME? Think about that.

Caught another mirrored 1M1 while watching the ending over again (Youtube screencap). Apparently I have no idea how to post an image here though.

@OMGBANF:

Hey, interesting point...

Do you really think BioWare would take such a huge risk? I find it extremely hard to believe, simply because it would be so beautiful. Sacrificing potential profit for one of the most story- and player-focused games of all time?

Makes me feel insane to even dare contemplate it.

It's the last installment of their arguably largest franchise.  The revenue is literally "money-in-the-bank" and pretty much guaranteed... so it isn't unfathomable that Bioware takes creative freedom in ending their trilogy.

I find it interesting how T.I.M. can end up killing himself just like how Saren does in ME1

Presumably if we're right, the DLC for the proper endings would be free through the Alliance Network, and only require payment if you did not purchase the game new, also standing as an anti-piracy measure.
