That's the ending I've been hoping for.

I don't mind a possible ending being Shep's dying at the end for something like not bothering to get enough resources--I'm a sucker for a good tragedy--but after all the horrifying things that Shep's been through I just want (in my case) her to have a happy ending were she might be able to retire.

Now i can get a good nights rest for the first time in a week.

Part of me is relieved... but part of me feels like its just DLC that still has Shepard... but its DLC like Take Back Omega.

Still. it's like DO FAN SERVICE and tell us! quit beating around the damn bush, there are obviously pissed off people even to the point they created a charity about it!  Are the bells not ringing at bioware?

There's no need to be rude to them. You're right that it doesn't confirm anything, though.

This^

I'm pretty sure everything we've been discussing here was grasping at information that never existed in the first place. Plus, the way Casey says it... It doesn't sound like were getting any closure any time soon. It beats around the bush way too much to make the indoctrination theory Bioware's intended ending. Still holding the line though!

oh just shut up.

anyway, sounds like the ending we have is just the endings.

not the last of shepard obviously just means there is more dlc. set before your attack on cerberus. like the save the game loads after you finish.

i still hope there is some way they can explain more about the endings but as far as i can tell there wont be.

So, I was reading on a guide for ME3, and read this:

"If you choose the ending where Shepard destroys the Reapers, EDI dies along with all other synthetic life. However, if either of the other endings are picked, EDI will emerge from the crashed Normandy with Joker if Shepard encouraged them to be together."

Does that show that it really could all be just a hallucination? All of it an attempt to indoctrinate, to "assume control" of Shepard? Or does it go against the indoctrrination theory with EDI dying if her and Joker are not encouraged to be together?

"For us and for you, Mass Effect 3 had to live up to a lot of
expectations, not only for a great gaming experience, but for a
resolution to the countless storylines and decisions you’ve made
...So we designed Mass Effect 3 to be a series of endings to key plots and
storylines, each culminating in scenes that show you the consequences of
your actions.  You then carry the knowledge of these consequences with
you as you complete the final moments of your journey."

-Casey Hudson

Here's what I see from this: (Or what I hope for at least)

1. DLC 's will continue as a "series of endings" (like 24 or Lost, they'll keep us hanging in the dark until the next DLC or episode if you will)

2.Culminating into a large conclusive type DLC that has a full resolution/consequence to everything you have done.

3. Final moments of the journey DLC. Full extending powerful ending with all the goods....

What do you guys see?

It doesn't say indoctrination theory isn't correct. You're all assuming that it means that there will be future DLC to finish it. That isn't the case. Sure, that would be a great accessory to it, but the ending could still have been in line with the IT, but it was left open ended. Again, Shepard wouldn't have survived the Citadel explosion, and Shepard is on Earth in that ending.

I'm pretty sold on the indoctrination theory after watching this youtube vid:

Especially after listening to the codex and realizing the kid is very out of place everywhere. I think its an awesome concept if that is what is going down. Kind of like the concepts in the movies Inception and maybe a little bit of Matrix. If that info from his video is off let me know.

Anyway here's my opinion on upcoming DLC lineup

First (Long) DLC. True FULL Ending
Includes solid resolution and/or fight against Illusive Man, Reapers and Harbinger. Then a nice happy ending

Second (Medium-Short) DLC: Full Victory Lap
You get to go and visit past worlds and squadmates, romance story extended etc.

What do you guys think?

I really hope you're right!

Yeah I really like the whole "Blue Pill vs. Red Pill" reference. Seeing as the first matrix film was apparently inspiration (according to that piece of paper)

What I really want to see is the ability to return to that nice little retirement home I worked so hard on Pinnicle Station for.

Oh boy, just what I wanted. A statement linking to two articles praising the ending, none critical of it, and implying its only some of the most passionate fans who want more closure.

Bioware, I dont want more closure. I'd settle for just any closure at all, but I didnt get even that.

Don't get ahead of yourself.  He is talking about the end of the Genophage, the end of the Quarian/Geth War, the end of the false image of the Asari...

DLC could be tied with that, and it would be great if he is including that in there, but the above I wrote is what he was focusing on.
