Okay everypony. I've just beaten the game on the second playthrough on Insanity. I chose destroy and had a lvl of 7010ish. I can without a doubt tell you its indoctrination. Just saw the breathe seen as we already know, currently rolling through credits. I'm waiting to see if there is anything or any kind of message at the end of the credits (other than the old dude and kid).

STATUS: Waiting/Holding the Line

Just wanted to throw it out there that I loved your use of 'everypony'.

And then yay for holding the line!

Speaking of which! Its saturday which means its a new episode! YAY! Friendship is magic Mother ****er! :wizard:

All this PR nonsense is just making me even more sad that if BioWare had this intention from the start, people will just use the excuse that they stole our idea and ran with it.

Sad.

@SirLugash both of those bothered me a great deal as well, the reapers have been doing this every 50k year, harvesting all civilization to create reapers, each reaper is supposed to be indicative of its race, the last cycle harvested the Promethean and their sub-dominant races, yet not a single protean reaper was scene, nor the civilization before them whom had beard testicles like Indiana Jones from POTC. It makes me honestly question if this isn't just a reaper ADVANCED force, the ME universe technically takes place in the same universe as ours slightly in the future.

I think we did see other reapers, it is just not made very clear. At the end of ME2, we saw a reaper "baby"/core being bult at the collector base. Its implied that the the rest of the reaper wasnt bulit yet (which might explain how easily it went down). I'm sure if the reaper was finished, it'd have the same exterior as all other reapers in the game. The insides/cores differ, but the look samey on the outside.

I am aware of that, but I wasn't pointing at the human reaper larva.
I am pointing on the outro video of ME2 where you see the reaper fleet moving in from different angles, there you clearly see different looking reaper ships.

See here: images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110429155353/masseffect/de/images/6/69/Reaper_fleet.png

The middle one with the glowing "eyes" is Harbinger, but what with the rest ?

Oh hey, they don't all look the same. I had forgotten Harbinger wasn't the only one that looked different. Now I'm really bothered that they pretty much all look the same in ME3. :/

I'm so far behind. In the process of catching up. Eight episodes to go... nine after tonight. XP

On-topic note: holding the line here in Texas! Remember, Indoc theory can still apply whether Bioware intended it or not! Do not lose faith!

It's a bug. It can happen to any of the characters during dialogue scenes.

It also kinda reminds me of that rubbernecking bug that was never fixed in ME2 where shepard would focus on one character and their head would keep turned when you started walking around to another part of the ship until you completely stopped and waited for the character to straighten out their head.

I don't think they entirely fixed that. I was playing lastnight and Shepard's head was jerked around, making her look challenged.

Anyway, still holding onto hope the line and throwing my support at this thread.

I read a lot of the pages of this topic, and I support this theory too. I haven't read it all, thus I don't know if this has already been posted.

But if this theory is not true, is there an explanation why the catalyst (the ghost kid at the ending) is an human? The Reapers race exists much longer then the human race I suppose, and it doesn't look logical that an human kid, one that is alive at the beginning of ME3, is the person you would talk to. If the theory is true, then it is quite obvious, but if this is the real ending, is there an explanation?

I've asked this question to the Mass Effect twitter multiple times, but I didn't get an answer. But when I told them I loved the game, I got a reaction within 15 minutes.

I would assume, if I were forced to try to explain any part of the ending in a literal way, that whatever the catalyst is, it was able to read Shepard's thoughts or something, and took a form that had meaning to Shepard. But that really just creates more questions, like "What exactly is this thing, that can read minds and change its appearance and crap?" and "Why the form of a dead child that gives Shepard nightmares?"

If the end is real, the reason why the child is there was probably exlained in the mission where Shepard joins the geth consensus.
After breaking free the data clusters, you see holograms of the "birth" of the geth resistance with masked quarians, even if they didn't needed them back then.
Legio says something like "You can't understand something that you haven't seen", as you only know the quarians with masks and couldn't imagine them without.
Same applies to the kid, the hologram is something Shepard can relate to.

@vinniewalker, it isnt human. go back and take a look at older posts. or replay the game.

i dont want the ending changed tbh, i just want all the plot holes filled in. regarding joker and everone after the relays exploded etc etc.

Thank you for the responses. That Shepard can relate to the kid sounds like a fine answer.
Problem, like said, is that it only gives more questions.

@GavinUK86 Did you mean the same that the kid isn't human? That the catalyst chose something Shepard can relate to?
Reading all the 655 pages costs too much time. I'm starting a new play trough soon, to get the story better. Only read about the story of ME1 unfortunately, because I play on PS3.
