I just watched it again on youtube and you are correct in the blue ending the Citadel is not destroyed. However the relays are destroyed, as soon as the relay shoots off the blue beam it begins to explode.

It didn't look like the relays were destroyed to me, not like they were in the other endings with pieces flying. I'll watch it again.

The citadel doesn't get destroyed, but the relays do.

I'm still not seeing it but it's very short so I could be wrong. I went frame by frame through that part on all three endings and I'm not convinced the relays are destroyed in Control ending compared to the pieces flying in the other two endings which you can clearly see.

Agree to disagree? LOL

Hell, there's a lot of pages.

"-Choosing to destroy all synthetic life option is more Renegade in appearence. Controlling the Reapers is more Paragon in appearence. The Illusive Man's choice should not be Paragon colors, just as Anderson's choice should not be Renegade. The reapers are saying that Destroy is the worst, Control is worse, and Synthesis is the best. They want you to fail."

My idea on this is that Reapers are said to represent order. Being a Paragon in the Mass Effect series is a paragon of justice, right and order... You get my drift ?
On the other hand, destroying the Reapers is shown under a red Renegade light because Mass Effect's renegade is a paragon of chaos ! Plus, all these attempts and affirmation that salvation and the end of war are aquired through the Reapers destruction is no better than "we destroy it out of self defense" I mean, destruct to preserve organic life. However the child says organic life is chaos (and hell, we all know now that we are the paragons of chaos and we didn't discover the eezo core already ! xD)

That is why the colours are reverse. After that if you say this is more a trick of the Reapers and not an objective light given by the game scenarists/devs, I agree too.

sorry for faults, gallicisms and such:ph34r:

Let me save y ou the effort of looking through all the vids. This compares all the endings byt running them at the same time. Control DOES NOT SHOW the relays being destroyed whilst all the others do.

Just watched all the endings again. The citadel isn't destroyed in the Contol (blue) ending. You can see the arms closing up fully but it doesn't show it being destroyed. The relays aren't destroyed either.

Sorry if this has already been noted somewhere.

But the Citadel is also a relay.. that is a bit contradictory of them.

Agreed didn't really make sense to me either.

Shepard:  Legion, did anything in this ending make sense?!
Legion:  ...  No data available.

Not sure if this has also been mentioned but, Anderson actions seems to be mirroring your own when you wake up... he says he found a bridge and all that, but the only bridge that leads to the centre is the one you walk on...

Although he does say that the walls are "shifting" but still.. that's something to keep an eye on.

I think its rather obvious why in the Control ending the relays are intact.
Why would the Reapers indoctrinate Shepard and destroy their means of returning every 50k years.
Seriously, 6 ending videos that look the same and give the same ending...every time I do that math my soul dies a bit more.

Hell I think if Legion had lived to see the ending it would have fried his central processing unit.

Aff, means that if Casey Hudson said to Kotaku, only answers we have next year? I have no idea what he wants for the series, but if the rumors of DLC as "The Truth" is wrong, he may consider bankruptcy.

I always thought the relays blow up in all endings? Then again I've only seen the Destroy ending.

Knights of the Old Republic was my first Bioware game and that story line they had in that game with the twist of you being Darth Revan is exactly why I have loved Bioware over the years. I am holding on to hope that this whole thing is part of some plan they have come up with.

Best twist ever that one. Then they went and canon-nised the whole story in TOR and the novel Revan. Ack.

It would be depressingly funny if we find all this detail and it turns out we were either reading too much or it was pure coincidence...

when you watch the video closely you can see that the relay starts to break down/get destroyed in the control ending to (about 1:30)

Well, I guess its all coincidence, but it's still in the game and thus a way to save the franchise without rewriting anything.

agreed it wouldnt require a ton of retcon to the already laid-out foundation for the theory that we just keep seeming to add to as the days go on just stuff after what we have already been presented with.  Holding the line in Alabama. Keelah Se'lai!

Yeah I had never been so shocked from a video game story line before that one. TOR was kind of a disappointment in my opinion.

Another point to note as well is that if you go in the squad panel when you are up with the Catalyst, your health is stated as "0".. perhaps another indication that by this point he is already dead/unconscious?

Slo Shepard's face is rather clean.. while he is wearing that busted up armour.. more clues/confusion...
