I think it was confirmed this comes from the time Shepard was under lockdown after Arrival and the app messes with timestamps.

Would be cool though if it was a post game hospital visit for those who survived. Like, the DLC starts with your LI or Hackett, if you didn't romance anyone, visiting you in the hospital and the actuall ending is re-told via flashbacks.

Nah, terribad idea...

For what it's worth ...
I installed the app on my ipod after I had beaten the game, granted I received ALL messages at once. So I deleted everything, started a new game and so far have no gotten that message. I finished the mars mission and went to the citadel, last message I got right after talking to James was hm, something about the citadel being a big ass place.
Do not see how the app messes with timestamps, but it could be that that last message is messed up /sarcasm.

Also, I noticed that you get messages almost instantly. I had literally just clicked the dialogue option to accept that reporter whatever her name is on a trial run and got the message from her thanking me.

I know posting something like this here is essentially preaching to the choir, but whatever, I'll post it anyway in case you folks might find it interesting. While this thread was picking up steam and going strong, I was making my own video in parallel to cite proof from the game that supports the idea of Shepard fighting off indoctrination. The ideas presented are my own, but I found this thread and saw it had similar info as well as a wealth of additional support for the theory. I refer whoever views my video to come here for more, so I figured it was only fair to give you all that heads up.

www.youtube.com/watch

Don't expect anything too crazy new though, looks like most of my assertions were already covered by someone else in this thread (except for maybe my appraisal of the dream sequences and their significance, from my reading a lot of people have been skirting that one).

Here's the link again in case the hyperlink breaks:

as I commented on your video, I will say the same thing here. Great job! Fantastic compiling you did, sir.

Has anyone reached level 60 their first time through? I ended at 57 and did everything I could locate. Seems odd.

Quick question. Apologies if it has already been posted/answered.

I've replayed the ending twice, once with < 3000 EMS and the second with full EMS. Odd thing I noted, when my EMS was smaller, almost all of my crew was on the Normandy crash. When I was at 100% readiness, it was just my ground crew (Garrus, Vega). Has anyone else noticed this? Or is the makeup of the Normandy crash at the end kind of random? My fear is that Bioware is going to release an extended epilogue that explains, 'you see, they're dead.'

I had over 6k EMS and Joker, Kaidan (LI), and Garrus got off the Normandy at the end...Garrus was never in my party for the last part of the game. Starting to think it might be random, which would be a strange programming decision since so many players have characters from their party in the last mission walk off the Normandy on bi-lunar jungle land.

I don't know who you get when you choose control but Sythesis is Joker,Edi + LI and destroy is Joker, Javik + LI.

My LI was garrus and if you don't have the DLC it replaces Javik with someone else?  Can someone confirm if it's a standard thing or if it's random?

"At this time we are still collecting and considering your feedback and have not made a decision regarding requests to change the ending."

So, that's what Bioware says. ¡They haven't decided yet! So they don't know what to do... O.O

You probably can't reach 60 in a single go. ME1 was that way as well; to get to 60 you had to start a new playthrough with a character that had finished the game.

Very interesting collection of BioWare Statements (most pre-release I think): http://social.biowar.../index/10056886
If it was already posted here, sorry, can't read all 700 pages ;)

Why would they explicitly state things like that if they planned this ending?

Especially those:
“There are many different endings. We wouldn’t do it any other way. How
could you go through all three campaigns playing as your Shepard and
then be forced into a bespoke ending that everyone gets? But I can’t
say any more than that…”

“Every decision you've made will impact how things go. The player's also the
architect of what happens."

“You'll get answers to everything. That was one of the key things. Regardless
of how we did everything, we had to say, yes, we're going to provide
some answers to these people.”

“Because a lot of these plot threads are concluding and because it's being
brought to a finale, since you were a part of architecting how they
got to how they were, you will definitely sense how they close was
because of the decisions you made and because of the decisions you
didn't make”

They havent decided wether to change the ending, but this theory does not require the ending to be changed, only that something is added to it.

Might be looking to much into the sentence though.

At the beginning I was really hoping this would be true, and that all along they were trolling us and would release the true ending after the game had been released everywhere.

I just find it so hard to believe that, given the attention to detail carried through all three games (bar the end of ME3), they could produce an ending with so many gaping plotholes and inconsistencies. It seems as if they hired a completely new set of writers who had never before experienced the ME universe to write the ending. It just doesn't add up.

All of the clues that support the indoctrination theory make it seem very plausible, because I just can't understand how, with the ending as it is, the developers/writers could deem it acceptable when it goes against practically everything that makes the ME universe what it is.

Holding the line.

I have a feeling they're trying to get an idea of what everyone wants, how much it would cost to make something that will suficiently please everyone and then see if EA will greenlight it.

They stuffed up and I'm pretty sure they don't want to do it again, especially since it's gonna cost them money to make. A great DLC that provides what we want is well worth it but one that flops AND cost more money isn't. This jives with what Jessica Marizen's last said about being patient and making sure they get it right.

I think once they feel comfortable that they know what needs to be changed for this to be successful ,they'll take it to EA. Hopefully be an announcement around PAX.

Still, the anxiety of waiting is murder!

Do they know that we don't want the ending changed but that we want an extra hour with the real ending and the plot holes explained?

I got to level 59 (imported from ME2), but I can't see where you should get the other xp. When I started my playthrough+ I was immediately level 60 though.

Couldn't of said it better myself. They created ME surely they would know about the major plot holes. The only explanation is indoctrination. There simply isn't another way. I really really really am hoping they have locked content which is the extended version of the ending that will be unlocked once more people have played the game. One can hope!

One thing that keeps bothering me. Why people state that the renegade stuff mens bad stuff? Renegade means "do whatever you need to do, even when others don't have the guts to do so, trying to achieve something good". Shepard is not evil, he wants to save the galaxy, even the renegade Shepard is good, he just put the duty above all things, mostly. The "Anderson Choice" is "Renegade" because military people usually puts duty above all things, this is "Renegade" in the game, mostly. Paragon is a kind of "i want to save everybody", who usually follow his heart, mostly, what is dangerous, but rewarding, in other hand, Renegade people just do what they have to do, and have no concerns about "some" casualties, the goal must be achieved at any cost.

The eye stuff, i think this is wrong, because i was playing yesterday and noticed the EDI's eye have the same pattern, but they just don't glow. Or she was indoctrinated too? Based in what i know, machines don't need to be indoctrinated, they can just be controlled by "hacking" their systems or be "persuaded" in the case of a real AI, like Geth and EDI.

Just for the record, i finished the game once, now i'm replaying to correct some **** i done in the previously playthrough.

Am I missing some information but how did sovereign influence the geth? as the codex states that Indoctrination is the term used for the brainwashing effect the Reapers have on "organic beings". A signal or an energy field surrounds the Reaper, which influences "people's minds"

Geth are sythetic so he used reaper code to control them, as seen in fighter squadron when you enter the geth consensus
