Those little "side" steps silently slide in from the side leading to the destroy and control endings.

I think its also a point to note the placement/location of the choices. In my first playthrough, I was trying so hard to absorb all the details of everything that was happening so quickly, that when I finally got control back from all the dialog, the only path appeared to be forward into the big beam of light. The path that ultimately the reapers want you to take the most. It seemed like the only decision before me at the time and I willingly jumped into the beam of light half expecting to make my choice there.

Exactly the same happened with me!!!

We haven't gotten to say "in your face!" to the turian with his funny "air quote" about the reapers..
I demand a dlc for that!

I know that this guy who made this app had a lot of contact with BW prior to release. So if these quotes are accurate, it really sounds more like BW really meant what they did. Unfortunately.

If we push them enough, we can make them give us a new and better ending, or just add to the ending that we have, it has been done before

Yeah we sure don't need something that is too video gamey in a video game.MrFob wrote...
Well, I actually agree with that assessment. I also agree that a final boss fight is not needed. I though that was about the only good ting about the ending.

Mac Walters on the Star Child/Reapers
"Originally, with the catalyst, the star child at the end of the game, I had written that much more in the guise of a investigative style conversation, where there is something he tells you but then, you get to ask a bunch of questions and you get your questions answered. But then me and Casey talked and decided, lets keep the conversation "High level". Give you the details that you need to know, but don't get into the stuff that you don't need to know. Like "How long have they been reaping?" You don't need to know the answers to the mass effect universe. So we intentionally left those out"
And isn't this also something that alot of you guys here are complaining about? that we could not ask the "starchild" alot of question and such.

And I do agree with monrapias' earlier post, maybe if we push hard enough, we can achieve something.

Well that is not the questions I were thinking about.MrFob wrote...
Hm, I personally think asking question like "How long were ya reapin'?" wouldn't have made a difference at all. The whole premise is flawed without the indoctrination theory.
And I do agree with monrapias' earlier post, maybe if we push hard enough, we can achieve something.
Hold the line!
But usually you get to "investigate" or whatever to get a better understanding of what someone is talking about.
and alot of people seem to be missing that in the segment of the starchild.
but yes, hold the line I guess.

@estebanus, IIRC Shep picks up the pistol when s/he "wakes up". No way to know if it is supposed to be Shep's own or some other one flung in front of him/her. I could be misremembering though.

Everything mentioned, including the script, pertains to the actual gameplay mechanics and sequences in the game. What is going on with that ending in not explained in there.
BioWare has also told us that Final Hours doesn't deal with the lore/story.
Man, the deja vu is strong with this thread
I do understand it's hard to keep up, but relying on the OP that took things out of context from the feature, and not bothering to check up on any follow ups to it, is a bit irresponsible. No offense intended.

Also remember: Anderson HAS or HAD a family. But in the scene he said he never had time.MrFob wrote...

EDIT: Oh something else, I just listened to the cut Anderson dialogue (beautiful piece of writing and VO btw). If the indoctrination theory would turn out to have been the plan all along and Anderson just represents some part of Shep's mind, it would make perfect sense to cut the whole part about settling down and keep it as abstract as possible. If the ending is the real ending, it is a damn shame they cut that.
