I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but does anybody think it's just a little too convenient that the beam that is supposed to transport human corpses to the Citadel for "processing" also leads directly to the master control console? You would think the Reapers would be a little smarter than to create a direct path for someone to open the Citadel arms.

Watch between 30 seconds and 40 seconds. There seems to be a creepy looking tree there. And Shepard's dreams all included similarly creepy trees, oily shadows, that little brat, and even his own death (All of which happen in this "Dream sequence.")
The tree is obviously the way you came from, but I dont recall passing it when shep is "Conscious." (What is one random small ass tree doing in the middle of a galactic warzone anyway?)

-This is the scene we are all accustom to. Shepards heroic charge towards the conduit. Keep an eye open for any trees along your route. Personally, I didnt see a single one. Note: I have not investigated for this tree in game, and its possible that I've missed it due to the chaos of the scene, but I havent seen it in any videos I've watched (And I've watched plenty).

Now why would bioware not just reuse the previous map and add alittle carnage and blur to save themselves both time and money... And even if it is the same map (Im not an expert on how this game/map coding works), I doubt they just decided to add a random ass tree all a sudden just for the "lolz". If someone can confirm my theory in game, the likely hood of this being an oversight is very low, near 0. Assuming that tree is not in the final assault on the conduit, but only in the "dream," it proves that shepard is hallucinating to some extent (Even if it is just a tree). And if he is hallucinating at that point, we can infer that NOTHING after the laser beam incident actually occurred.

If it turns out to be true, it is a small piece of reliable evidence, and this thread needs all the evidence it can get.

I apologized if someone already posted this, but I figured it was random enough that its possible no one noticed.

Thoughts? Am I on to something or just on a wild krogan chase?

It's completely evident that post-harby lazer is all a hallucination. When you wake up, the area around the beam is covered with the same ghostly trees and white fog that shep saw in his dreams with the kid. C'mon...how did 95% of BSN miss that?...

the indoctrination theory is the only way to explain the ending that we saw.It makes sense to me and it makes sense to a lot of people. BioWare has better writers and this proves it. I personally don't mind this ending, I think its the best ending ever if in fact there is a second part to it. Which is the question that remains in my head. Because to me, it seems like you were hallucinating and nothing really happened other than the fight for your freewill. So, everything is still at play.

I will be disappointed if BioWare intended to end the game like this - which I doubt. But they haven't confirmed anything. To Be honest, the multiplayer seems pointless if the game is done and the reapers are dead. I think they're giving themselves more time to complete the ending. The indoctrination theory fits well in this with having us wait and reflect on what happened in order to give us an awesome ending.

After playing chess with Traynor, and discussing the fact that the strategy Shepard used would have worked in RL by having the Krogan in the front lines led to me to believe that at the end Shepard will be giving commands to all the squad members and their team just like in ME2 but in a larger form.

In my first playthrough, I was trying so hard to absorb all the details of everything that was happening so quickly, that when I finally got control back from all the dialog, the only path appeared to be forward into the big beam of light. The path that ultimately the reapers want you to take the most. Oh wow, I'm not alone!  This almost happened to me too.  I only noticed the other paths at the last minute because I was looking around at the space battles and soaking up the atmosphere.  I was pretty sure the beam of light was where I'd make my choice.  Felt like I was drunk the whole time in that room.  NICE TRY, GODKID.
