I tried once, the game refocus you in the right direction and the kid is much closer to you, so you don't have to run as much.

Uhmm, i don't know if this has already being commented, but about the whole dream thing, i have thought about it well, could harbinger be the one indoctrinating shepard since the begining? If i remember correctly, harbinger is the only one who can indoctrinate from a distance (a very long distance considering he could control the collectors from unknown space), i remeber the moment shep destroys/cleans the collector base, harbinger stops the control.
My point is that in the invasion to earth, harbinger already knew that shep was there, so his first try to indoctrinate shep was the kid, but when shep leaves earth, harby already knows he fleed from the planet, so he did "long distance" indoc manipulating his dreams. The reason of this hypothesis was the second dream, i saw how the shadows started to gather in one place, exactly where the kid was, so it coud mean that following the kid in the dreams leads shep more and more to be indoctrinated.

That is kind of the implication yes. Harbinger barely appears, and yet he was firmly established as a villain in the previous game, blasts you personally with a laser, and a bunch of other mean stuff.

Also it's great for the theory here,in that it means Bioware actually DO follow up on characters and that Harbinger is actually a much more interesting villain, as well as more effective than you would think just watching the game as is.

okay so i've been reading all the press releases from bioware and nowhere did i see them say "we're changing the endings", yet cnet seems to know something we don't.

On the one hand, some of our loyal fans are passionately expressing their displeasure about how their game concluded; we care about this feedback, and we’re planning to directly address it.

hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity to those seeking further closure to their journey. You’ll hear more about this in April.

those two quotes still support the indoctrination theory right? I need the indoctrination theory to be true guys. I don't know what I'll do otherwise.

Lame. Would be excited to find out you could prevent the indoctrination or something by doing something special in the dreams. Though I like the idea of fighting it off at the end :)=]:):police:

hey noticed something the last time i played the ending. The god-child says to Shepard "I control the reapers, they are my solution."

This is strange because it has been established that "Reapers" is not the Reapers true name as Sovereogn pointed out in the first game.

"Reaper a label created by the Protheans to give voice to their destruction. In the end what they choose to call us is irrelevant, we simply are."

This could just be oversight by the writers but still...

The term "solution" is first used on Mars, in the conversation between Shepard and TIM...

Not sure if this has been touched on but  I just played through again and came across one troubling fact:

The Prothean AI in the Cerberus HQ stated that The Illusive Man had gone to the Citadel so he was legitimately there at the end.  :?

The god-child could have just read Shepard and used familiar terms, much like legion in the consensus, but as for the solution part, I think TIM is trying to get Shepard on his side, but for the whole game he doesn't know he's indoctrinated, so slow idoctrination possibly.

(rolling along with IT) That doesn't mean the confrontation with Anderson, Shepard, and Tim actually happened in reality though.

Yes TIM is legitimately there at the end, the point of the IDT is that what Shepard was seeing is an illusion/dream sequence of indoctrination and that TIM is just the indoctrinated part of you trying to make you join the reapers. TIM is there, but not in the way it was represented by the ending.

So it might still be the point when Shepard passes out before the console, indoctrinated through TIM, like Reapers do it through sleeper agents.

Shepard could have passed out from blood loss and injuries, not really a sign of indoctrination I guess

But it would still be a good point for the 'full-on' hallucination to kick in, if a earlier point is ruled out.

I guess it is.

Just a question , as I'm away from my computer.

The reopened scars that Shepard has on his face during the indoctrination, when choosing destroy do they seem to heal as you start walking faster and stronger after picking he destroy option?

Just a clue I just thought may be there.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I will say it anyways...

Has anyone noticed how when Shepard is speaking to the reaper he just destroyed on Rannoch, the camera starts shaking and the player hears an odd buzzing? I mean, what I don't get is how no one hears this reaper! It is a massive creature talking. Is it possible that only Shepard heard it because he is already becoming indoctrinated?

Another thing that I noticed was the Harbringers in ME2. They would sometimes say “We are the beginning, you are the end.” Or they would sometimes say “Shepard, submit now.” or “You will regret your resistance, Shepard.” To me, it is implying that the indoctrination has either already begun, or it soon will start to show. I could be wrong, but for some reason it fits?

Even if this whole infoctrination theory is wrong, maybe Bioware wanted to actually end Shepard's saga? I mean, maybe they wanted to keep the idea of the reapers, but create a new (non-human) hero in a new ME series?
