My Sheps got a house to build with Tali and has got to do more buddy-cop stuff with Garrus.

Oh just imagine it, settling Tali's homeworld as a wild frontier, Shepard and Garrus as Sheriffs riding whatever passes for transport =)

Nah, all the news sites are claiming that the endings are going to "change", nothing the post they reference says that, the post says they will "clarify".

Still amazing PR stunt. They knew from the whole book fiasco that their fans/patrons/customers are quite vocal and...well..nitpicky (analytical :P) to notice the indoctrination stuff.

I would very very very suprised if the IT stuff wasn't planned.

^this

read dr. ray's letter for yourself guys. he says "provide more clarity". he never says changing the ending.

Again, BioWare has been very VERY picky in how they choose their words. Not changing the ending but providing more clarity could easily mean that what we saw wasn't even the real ending, hence BioWare didn't change it... but they DID provide more clarity.

Agh. Dissecting. Need to stop.

Regardless, like it was mentioned earlier, I think it's ironic that BioWare stopped referencing this thread and will no longer do cryptic tweets regarding the ending or this theory anymore... I think it caught more steam than they expected and they're trying to avoid it now. That's my take, anyway.

Yep without confirmation they get to have their lulz at PAX and by saying all the PR stuff they calm people down.

Back on topic, one of the things about Anderson's description of where he is on the Citadel contradicts what is there from what Shepard/Us sees.

If we assume Anderson, being part of Shepard's subconscious, is describing what Shepard is currently seeing or just about to see, does that scene make more sense?

So I was considering the "emotional lines" thread, nearby, when I came across the lines Kolyat recited during Thane's death. One of them jumped out at me:

"Kalahira, this one's heart is pure, but beset by wickedness and contention....The Prayer was not for him, Commander. He has already asked forgiveness for the lives he has taken. His wish was for you."

"Beset" means "to attack, harrass, assail". Thane was praying to his goddess, that Shepard's soul was good but under attack. It just seemed interesting, that close to death, that's how Thane perceived his friend.

Ok I accept the theory in whole. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Shepard survives the indoctrination, wakes up on Earth... now what? There is still a losing battle being waged in space above and the ground forces have been almost entirely wiped out. Earth has hardly been "re-taken" as the marketing campaign suggests.

Best case scenario, and this is a pretty substantial stretch of the imagination, but Harbinger is dead. Shepard being the first to defeat an indoctrination attempt could have overpowered the mind of the reaper and crushed it in his mind vice. There are still 1000's more.

Indoctrination theory or not, the game hasn't "ended." This is literally the same as the cliffhanger at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 (ZOMG BARBOSA IS ALIVE BUT WE STILL HAVE TO BEAT THE EAST INDIA COMPANY!). I'm going to be very disappointed if I now have to pay for an ending in DLC to a game that didn't end.

Yeah, I was also wondering if that could be related to IT for some time now. Discuss!

I loved everything about the Thane dialogue. Very true to character. Might be a touch to deep to dig, assuming Thane would see that Shep was being indoctrinated.

This is a fun thread to follow, but man it goes fast once it gets going.

Guys be careful of getting your hopes up. This is still a theory and speculation.

Don't forget that until confirmed by bioware everything can also be explained by rushed bad writing

I really hope Harbinger is not dead!  Judging from the awesome reaper confrontation moments earlier in the game... I want to have my Harbinger show down!

Not sure if it was on this thread but I said that days ago, maybe that's the Illusion theory :P

From way back on page 67:

I know Joker is just screwing with Shepard, but its... intriguing

No one really cared when I brought it up though :?

Sorry, it goes fast.  I've only read about 50 pages of this thread.

Change the end?  We don't want it to change? Do we? If the theory that we are going by, the end has to stay, but we need a dlc to keep playing so we can get to the end, cause if the theory is anything to go by, the "end" that we have so far, isn't the end.

Or?

The final straw for me that this theory is probably true was that video ACAYVOS made. The new one.

The Rachni Queen mentions "oily shadows"

In Shepard's dreams, what do you start to see more and more of? Oily shadows.

This is my interpretation of Muzyka's "current ending" statement.

Unfortunately that's true though I sincerely hope this is what they planned (or claim to), non-conclusive argument against rushed/bad writing is that the rest of the game has such high-quality writing and attention to detail.

Honestly, if this was a court of law with the amount of evidence we have complied we could force a plea bargain.

Totally... It is really hard for me to walk away because I am scared I will miss something.  That and all the people that have PMed me saying that something I pointed out convinced them of IT.

I'm hoping IT is so true and I believe it was supposed to end that way so almost everything we've pointed out is supposed to be there.  However, I bet the time constraint and the struggle they appeared to have near the last few weeks of development on the indoc ending forced them to write up a quick odd ending with plotholes so they could put the game out on time and then focus on the DLC ending so it was done right.  That is why they planned a PAX ME3 panel ahead of ME3 release.  My two cents.
