Anyway, there does seem to be a lot of evidence (good, bad and iffy) that supports the IT. I wouldn't mind seeing some good evidence against it though, just to balance it. I can't really think of much, as it seems pretty tight. The only evidence I can think against addresses the iffy points (like, Vegas saying can you hear a hum) and not some of the better supported parts.

No rumor. It was debunked. The OP said a bit down that it's not official and he/she created it, changing some track names. I posted a direct link quite a few pages back.

Some of the evidence is weak or can be summed up by gameplay mechanics (unlimited ammo and similar).
Most the hard evidence is pretty secure (Shepard can survive Destroy surrounded by concret, likely London, Shepard's eyes become indoctrinacted in Control and Synthesis etc). Taken with the good evidence all the little things in the game add up to support the IT.
Most who pop on just to 'disprove' the theory don't back up their claims or just attack the weakest bits.
From now on I am just going to say:
"The Council didn't believe Shepard about the Reapers. Why won't you believe us about your Indoctrination?"

Just pointing out that they are still teasing the people who think the Indoc theory is true and are continuly hinting at it. That should be a pretty big clue since they (either bioware or their PR) have been hinting at it for ages.
i.e. taken together "Not changing the dream-like ending but releasing additional content",
So many hinting tweets from the last few weeks. Wish I had a screen grab of them all together.

I do not get it.. I said it a million times before too "BW is NOT changing the endings but adding to them", it was always written like that, if people misunderstood, then they learn to read.
Still do not see how this proofs IT.... it coul still mean they want to fill in the plotholes, like the deleted scene about Liara and garrus, that would explain your comanions "magically teleported", which they didn't cos they died.

As are you people who will stand by a FAN THEORY to the goddamn death. Look, i'm not saying it's absolute BS, some realy interesting observations have come out of it, but it is just as likely that the terrible ending is the result of bad writing. And I think it speaks volumes for how bad it realy is that people would rather say it was all a god damn dream than believe for even two seconds that it might be possible BioWare actually messed up.
Also, ......are you sure? huh. Well he damn sure grabs himself in pain in the area he was shot while he's standing up.

-edit- To explain my position I am going to say, that until Bioware's announcment I would advise holding off the claims of "bad writing". The entire game has amazing writing, and is filled with such emotions never seen in a game before. So to say "bad writing" on the obscure final 10 minutes is an insult to Bioware's writing team.
Ah yes, and there it is. I disagree with you, hence I am trolling. Fantastic, GG, WP. This just sums up BSN completely.

Yeah it was a huge slap in the face to me. Saw something earlier on this thread about "hidden files" and decided to look into it using my actual ME3 folder and using sources.
It's definately something fresh that can atleast be directed toward IT
So I tweeted @MassEffect because it is a genuine concern to me that people with minimal internet access be able to complete the game. With my theory you need to at least get online because of exactly what Kroen135 mentioned. The content needs to be unlocked. But how? Will it merely unlock on April 6th?@masseffect I hope this content is easy for people in rural areas to get. Thanks for all your hard work here on the Twitters.
@chuckiej We hope to make any future content accessible to all players, thanks for your Tweets!
My theory:
Chris Priestly gave us the biggest clue of all.We understand there is a lot of debate on the Mass Effect 3 ending and we will be more than happy to engage in healthy discussions once more people get to experience the game.
The number of people who have completed the game is the key. Much like Operation: Fortress, Bioware has the ability to capture information about the progress of online gamers playing the campaign (For Xbox, even if they don't have Xbox Live Gold they can still play connected to Live). The content is on the disc and will automatically (or semi-automatically) unlock once a certain number or percentage of players have completed the ending. A ping/short message will be sent to the game (or the game checks for one on launch) much like the one that popped up explaining Operation: Fortress. When the game receieves this message the content unlocks (or for the PC players, it downloads).
Now I definitely could be wrong about the "number or percentage of players" part but I think it would be pretty cool. The other option is to use the same method but unlock it immediately after the PAX panel (after which certainly enough people should have "experienced the game"). The point would be to avoid large downloads for players who might not be able to get them easily. As long as you can get online at all, you can get the content when everyone else does automatically.
Love the idea, my thought which I posted around 100pages I go I think(this thread moves fast)
At Pax a video montage of the final battle is shown, including Shepard breathing. At which point someone from behind crowd dressed as a character, Liara or the new guy(I can't remember his name at the moment) maybe even Edi (can't be any character who could be dead by this point) would yell. Wake Up it's time to take back Earth. Then screen that was showing ending flashes Priority: Take Back Earth.
Imagine the reaction that the annoucement would get, it would be huge
Sorry to report guys, this one is debunked, there is no additional content on the consolde discs, they are 15.00 GB and 16.50 GB, big enough to count for variance between the two systems, the PC has a total of 14.61 GB of information on both discs.
Besides, I can debunk this with a little common sense. If it's set to go off when a certain number of ppl beat the game, then how would they know precisely when to make the annoucement? Morever they would lost the chance to get all the pomp and ceremony associated with being able to pull this out of their hats, it's more, "Oh yeah, last mission is up, like, if you guys care, or anything" when they seem more to be shooting for "HEY LOOK GUISE! WE MADE THIS! BEHOLD OUR AWSOMENESS!"
Besides, already proven, we can disc rip console just as easy as PC, there would be no hiding it on there.

Then the normandy decides to out run the explosion after picking you and your allies up. It may then crash on the planet, the scene plays out the same but at the end you get out the ship?
Then that means they aren't changing the ending, just adding to it. I don't think that this will be the way they go though, but it is one idea.

Now to why I think IT is not plausible... unlimited ammo with the gun, from all the cases we have seen of indoctrination thusfar it always showed a character who still had enough reality, Saren knew what he was doing all along he only had the misguided idea that it was his idea or made him believe what the reapers were saying was a good thing.
There wasn't much up close contact except for the dying reaper you killed after that rollercoaster ride or do they just call you up and say :"your indoctrinated"
It also isn't the matrix ( even how much the story writer wanted it) you can't imagine more bullits they just run out.
If I may hazard a guess of what it is, I think it is a dreamsequence of Shepard while he is dying , Harbinger left because he thought everyone was dead or dying.
That obnoxious starchild is more like a representation of what he fought for, the same real life kid in the beginning of the game when shepard leaves and he is apparently the only one that sees him, just don't be sure about that one, the soldiers were shooting at the minireaper and you have to look at people behavior in a crisis the majority doesn't help his fellow man but tramples him on the way to the exit.
I personally think that they should do this, they don't have to rewrite the entire ending to make th ekid fit in, just negate it to a dream/illusion:

The thing about the dream sequence is that it's very similar to IT, so in other words, it isn't 'real'.
Making it turn out to be a dream is likely to incite more anger than making it an indoctrination, because there is evidence supporting indoctrination throughout the 3 games, but no evidence for dying dreams, if you know what I mean?
I suppose you could use that Shephard has already had several dreams involving this kid etc to support this, but you could also use it to support IT.
Edit:
To be honest, if anything, I think dreaming, IT and the idea that this may be a virtual reality (like when you went in the geth mainframe thing) are probably all at work somehow, just because of all the similarities present.
