Miranda didn't die in my playthrough, so Shepard says 'this is for Thane' (who always gets killed by Leng, I assume).

actually what is funny Thane always dies but not by Leng...I never visited Thane so Kirrahe saved the Salarian Councilor...So I guess if Miranda lives and you never visit Thane he would say this is for Kirrahe... I wonder who he mentions if Miranda lives and Thane is either dead in ME2 or you do not visit him and Kirrahe is dead too...

Actually, Kirrahe takes Thanes place if you don't talk to Thane or he died in your suicide mission.

I wonder what happens if you have both Kirrahe and Thane dead before ME3?  Who saves the salarian Councilor?

If Captain Kirrahe and Thane died in past games, Leng will be successful in the assassination. Best I could find and it was located here: http://masseffect.wi...iki/Thane_Krios Doesn't say what happens if Thane is still alive and you didn't talk to him.

Well, I might have a file with that set up.  Hmmm...

That I can tell you - you get Kirrahe saving the councilor and Thane dies offscreen  (his name ends up on the Normandy Memorial)

Oh, so the Councilor can live? Ha, Kirrahe and Thane are both dead in my games so Leng always kills the guy.

Not that I care. When I turned down spectre status in ME2 he told me to watch myself. Well, buddy... :P

EDIT: Also, which interrupt are you talking about?  The one at the very end of the final Kai Leng battle?  Because yeah... that's pretty badass.  Though I'm guessing since in my game Miranda is alive (my Shep's LI) and Thane and Kirrahe both died before ME3 I just didn't get any sort of "this is for..." line.  Pretty sure it was something along the lines of  "no gunship to save you this time, you bastard" Stabby stab... Leng dies... Shep turns around and continues business.  It's definitely one of the MOST satisfying moments of the game.

Thank You - that answers my question - and yes that is the interupt I was talking about

In my playthrough she said, "This is for Thane you son of a b*tch!" but Miranda died in my ME2 save, so maybe that's why....

Kirrahe decloaks in front of the Councilor and takes the sword to the chest...

I was like, wait, Shep's gonna get stabbed before the final battle!?!

Then that star popped up and I was like, "Hellz yeah..." Posted Image

You have to warn her about Kai Leng.  I believe it's after the Citadel coup; you can meet up with her on the Citadel and tell her about him showing up.  This puts her on her guard, so Kai Leng can't take her by surprise later apparently.

I've heard that you have to warn her about Kai Leng at some point.

Does giving her your go-ahead to tap into Alliance intel affect her survival for better or for worse?

My fave?  Plugging Udina.  He was actually starting to become grudgingly respectable in ME3... then he ends up a Cerbiehead.

I enjoyed the coup stuff, but I kinda think BW dropped the ball here.  Until that point, Udina's actions in ME3 were extremely understandable and I found myself sharing his sentiments.  It was nice to see that he and Shepard were entirely on the same side for once.  I would have liked some more dialogue explaining his actions.

Me too. I never felt like I received a good explanation for his actions.

I think he does it because really Humans have no power on the conciul so all he wanted was for them to have more power.

He's a jerk in ME3 as well. I accepted Spectre status (it's always nice to have sanction for ignoring the rules and doing whatever you want) but I also cured the genophage and he made a veiled threat about how if I hadn't saved his life...

Not that saving him matters in the slightest as he never shows up again.

You have to warn her about Kai Leng. I believe it's after the Citadel coup; you can meet up with her on the Citadel and tell her about him showing up.

I didn't like how this was handled. Miranda doesn't ask you to meet up with her and doesn't give you a location so unless you just happen to be looking at the map and see her name (like I did) or exploring the apartments then you'll miss her and she dies.

Until that point, Udina's actions in ME3 were extremely understandable and I found myself sharing his sentiments. It was nice to see that he and Shepard were entirely on the same side for once. I would have liked some more dialogue explaining his actions.

I think I understand and my Shepard couldn't even really blame him, even though she thought he was wrong.

He's not looking for power for its own sake. If you talk to him after the Council turns down your request for aid then he tells you about all the friends he's lost (he knew pretty much everyone in the Alliance Parliament personally and he sounds fond of them) and how even now he doesn't have enough power to make them save Earth.

It's all about saving Earth for him. He can't make the Council listen so he wants to neutralize them, take control, and force aid to be sent to Earth. He was just desperate and couldn't wait for you to single-handedly miraculously solve every dispute in the galaxy before saving Earth.

And in a way, he's right. It is absurd that you must negotiate and pacify people in exchange for them agreeing to fight against their own annihilation. Still, you didn't really have much of a choice other than helping petty people with their problems before they'd work to save themselves and Cerberus offered Udina a faster option.

If he had succeeded then it would have been disastrous but his intentions were the same as they had always been.
