What things do *not* carry over from ME2?

I'm asking because due to a lot of mess I basically need to re-run Mass Effect 2. There are things I don't feel like doing against to the same extent, e.g. gathering minerals. Do minerals from ME2 carry over or not?

What else will be taken away so I don't need to worry about it?

Gathered minerals net you a +25 war readiness boost. That's pretty much it. I don't know the exact details of how loyalty matters - I know that Grunt's does, and I suspect that Miranda's does as well. I think Tali's is important, too.

Yeah, you're going to want to play most of the game through again.

Don't bother, what you do will not matter in the end of the game anyways.

You get some war assets based on your minerals count, but do they matter? Not at all. My first Shep had about 25k of each mineral at the end, but my second Shep had like 200k of each (don't ask why, even I don't know, lol) and my first Shep got 25 war assets, my second got 100.

Supposedly there's a 10-30 point war asset for mineral resources that imports over.  My import did not carry any over though, even though I had an excessive amount of resources, so I dunno.

[ Hah may have figured it out ]

My iridium was only 75k, all the others were 300k+, but only got 25points, probably a bunch of threshold checks.

With the exception of characters, no choices seem to matter.

What doesn't transfer from ME2 to ME3 you ask? Good endings. That's what.

None of it matters.

Sorry if we all sound like Nietzsche wannabes, but really, in the end nothing matters.

All of the companions show up again if they survive if that's what you mean.

Thank you, guys. I don't mind storyline-related quest pursuits. At least I'll sit back, relax, refresh my memory, absorb some nice vocabulary (games are a good source of tech vocab if you aren't a native speaker) etc. What I do mind is nausaea-inducing mineral scanning, hand-on-mouse style. I guess I'll cut on that if I have no time, then again, I need them for upgrades. Will have to get the fuel/scanner upgrades ASAP, I guess.
