Quarains can't even eat the same food as Humans. Nothing wrong with adoption, in fact I would encourage it.

Sadly, simple biology dictates that it cannot result in a viable embryo due to the complete difference in DNA. Even if offspring were produced, it would more than likely be deformed or be infertile (as is the case with mules (produced by breeding horses and donkeys)). You can also look at it this way, Chimps are genetically 98% similar to humans and yet it is impossible for the two species to breed and produce offspring. Thus it is logical to conclude that two species that developed separately, on opposite corners of the galaxy, without the unique reproduction capabilities of the Asari, cannot produce viable offspring.

Believe me, I am sad as well I always have Tali as the LI

Maybe if you choose the Synthesis ending, it would be possible.

I find it funny that all the apparent biology people have much pooh-pooh about interspecies breeding, but no problem with the fact that apparently most all sentient life across the galaxy are bipedals with opposing thumbs with fundamentally something like human torsos. If sentient life is in fact as prevalent as the ME universe, it would be as different as it is numerous.

There is a thing called willing suspension of disbelief. Fact is, most aliens who aren't bipedal just look weird (exhibt A, giant pink jellyfish). Humans can't even breed with their closest cousins (chimps), how are they supposed to breed with completely alien lifeforms?

Hey, if you're gonna have a universe filled with sexy, hot-bodied aliens, I'm gonna wanna breed.  It's basic biology.  Or is it chemistry?

I chose to suspend disbelief, but let's face it, it's wholly unrealistic.

If shep cant have offspring with her then might as well make her at least look alien. Kinda crazy having a 99% human like person but no chance of children what is that about?

But if I do that then I can't make babies with Tali.  Or are we now in the realm of Mary's Immaculate Conception.  It might be appropriate given all the Biblical allusions throughout ME3.

Even if it was possible, can you even imagine how horrible that child's life would be? How lonely to be the only member of its species in the galaxy? It wouldn't be neither human nor quarian and it would be impossible for him/her to blend with either society.

Don't put a child through that. Just adopt some war orphans.

Okay, so it does look like there is no reasonable ground on which to base even a weak probability that humans and quarians could breed. I guess we have a bit of a conflict between the science behind species generation, evolution and stuff, and the way quarians look and act so similar to humans in the game.

Actually there are species of animals on earth that are very very very simular but are not related to eachother. It is possible for evolution to independently lead to very simular animals with simular traits that happen to work very well for those enviorments. Humans and Quarians seem to be a simular case as this.

As for children, Tali and Shepard could always just adopt. There are going to be alot of orphaned kids by the end of the war; so adopting would actually be doing some good, in addition to being a way to have a child.

There was a time not so long ago the same argument was made to interacial couples.  Unfortately there are still people in the world that believe people should stick to "their race."

My view is that if we all have sex together and make babies, we'll achieve synthesis (without the green magic.)

That doesn't even make sense. Humans are one species. Quarians are an entirely separate species. A hybrid of the two would be an entirely new species (and pretty much unique in this galaxy). What MisterJB says would actually be a real problem, not an imagined one like your example of the racism of old.

So a couple in love shouldn't have a child because you don't approve.  Um, yeah, I'm ignorant.
