Can anyone CONFIRM a better NG+ ending?
NG+ might just bypass the 100% Galaxy at War thing and give you that ending.

I'm actually writing an alternate ending as we speak, one that accounts for player choice and the flavor of the series far better than what we got. I'm cutting out the parts that added nothing or just confused the narrative, and filling the holes with stuff that would provide the player, or at least myself, with proper closure and a feeling of accomplishment.

Very true. But ROTJ ended on a very high note and the masses were mostly satisfied. The Matrix, yeah, that was silly and completely ridiculous. However, neither of them compare to the ME3 endings. Not even by a mile.
You created Shep, adventured with him for hours, years, and cared about the world he..or she lived in, especially since your choices helped to shape it.
Now, here comes Bioware, who gave us Shep in the first place, deciding that his time has come! Everything must go!
Wow! After all that he/she did for the company, that's the thanks he gets?
Unbelievable!

If you're going to see it, regardless of what we say, play it for yourself. I was in shock, frozen in a state of deliriousness, unable to understand how they pulled off such a travesty. It's a bitter but unique feeling, I recommend it.RocketManSR2 wrote...
I'll hate myself later, considering I've avoided big spoilers until now, but I may have to see this ending on Youtube or something.
Are you talking about the stargazer?CELL55 wrote...
NG+ doesn't give a new ending; it merely adds on to the existing one. It can also be seen with imported games on the first ME3 playthrough.
To avoid spoilers, all I'll say is that there is a voice actor in the credits who only talks in the 'secret' ending. If you have subtitles on, you can see their character name.

To those who are hoping for an "ending patch"; to think that Bioware will change the ending to their work of fiction to appease people who can't handle bittersweetness or tragedy is unrealistic in a patch is beyond unrealistic, so stop telling yourselves that 'it might' happen because you are just lying to yourself.

Is this what its come to? Have we been forced to write fanfiction? How were we brought to such a lowly state?

The thing with the last Matrix was that it was bad from the start. ME3 set up was great, but ended bad
Nah, I've read plenty of good Fanfics to know they're not ALL bad. But that is certainly a commonly held belief of fanfics from those who have never read them.Moonshadow_Dark wrote...

I'm sorry, are you stating that Fan Fiction writing is a punishment?

No, seriously. I'm not trolling here. Don't play the ending, you will never want to replay this game or any Mass Effect game again. Just some friendly advice from someone who underestimated how bad the ending was.Legion64 wrote...
Nah.
Here's advice from a guy who saw the ending and enjoyed the ride.
Get over it.

I haven't completed the game yet, but I've seen the spoilers and confirmed them with the official guide. In my case, it's definitely a combination of the two. It could have worked if certain parts were handled better. As it is, there are things that just don't make sense.Spanky Magoo wrote...
So a question to those who have completed it...
Is it a case of not having and endings as in none of the remaining threads are resolved and leaves many questions un answered? Or is it just a terrible ending due to writing as in all questions are answered but in an unsatisfactory fashion? Or is it a combination of the two where it seems the writers ultimate goal was to insult the players intelligence with some half-hearted attempt at something that if handled correctly could have worked nicely?
