Can anyone CONFIRM a better NG+ ending?

I've heard a few people deny it. I don't think it exists.

NG+ might just bypass the 100% Galaxy at War thing and give you that ending.

I'm actually writing an alternate ending as we speak, one that accounts for player choice and the flavor of the series far better than what we got.  I'm cutting out the parts that added nothing or just confused the narrative, and filling the holes with stuff that would provide the player, or at least myself, with proper closure and a feeling of accomplishment.

Is this what its come to? Have we been forced to write fanfiction? How were we brought to such a lowly state?:P

But I'm right there with you, if you ever finish it, and ever read this post, I'd appreciate a PM.

Here's my fan fiction alternate ending: it ends about 5 minutes earlier! Done! Let's get it to the presses!

Very true. But ROTJ ended on a very high note and the masses were mostly satisfied. The Matrix, yeah, that was silly and completely ridiculous. However, neither of them compare to the ME3 endings. Not even by a mile.

You created Shep, adventured with him for hours, years, and cared about the world he..or she lived in, especially since your choices helped to shape it.

Now, here comes Bioware, who gave us Shep in the first place, deciding that his time has come! Everything must go!

Wow! After all that he/she did for the company, that's the thanks he gets?

Unbelievable!

The thing with the last Matrix was that it was bad from the start. ME3 set up was great, but ended bad

NG+ doesn't give a new ending; it merely adds on to the existing one. It can also be seen with imported games on the first ME3 playthrough.
To avoid spoilers, all I'll say is that there is a voice actor in the credits who only talks in the 'secret' ending. If you have subtitles on, you can see their character name.

I'll hate myself later, considering I've avoided big spoilers until now, but I may have to see this ending on Youtube or something.

If you're going to see it, regardless of what we say, play it for yourself. I was in shock, frozen in a state of deliriousness, unable to understand how they pulled off such a travesty. It's a bitter but unique feeling, I recommend it.

I agree, then you can justifiably form your own opinon like i did.

To those who are hoping for an "ending patch"; to think that Bioware will change the ending to their work of fiction to appease people who can't handle bittersweetness or tragedy is unrealistic in a patch is beyond unrealistic, so stop telling yourselves that 'it might' happen because you are just lying to yourself.

Tragedy is the least of the ending's problems. Some of the best works of fiction have involved tragic endings. Mass Effect 3 simply is not one of them.

That makes it even worse.:crying:
At least when the rest of it is bad, you know what to expect and are at least partially used to it, but when everything up to the last 8 minutes was fantastic, the ending is a slap in the face from nowhere.
First you are like: "What just happened?"
Then: "Why did that just happen?"
Finally: "I can't believe that just happened!":pinched:

It's called the stages of grief.

Nah, I've read plenty of good Fanfics to know they're not ALL bad. But that is certainly a commonly held belief of fanfics from those who have never read them. :D

Yeah, I am. I didn't want to go out and say it since I thought it might be considered a spoiler and be erased by the Mods.
He's actually voiced by Buzz Aldrin. No matter your opinions of the man, I think it's neat that they got an actual spaceman for the part.

Um, no. I got the worst possible ending with a non-import Shepard and I got that bullsh*t at the end all the same.

Nah.

No, seriously. I'm not trolling here. Don't play the ending, you will never want to replay this game or any Mass Effect game again. Just some friendly advice from someone who underestimated how bad the ending was.

Here's advice from a guy who saw the ending and enjoyed the ride.

Get over it.

Good for you, the game's ending is totally unsatisfying. For those who take his advice (those who don't want to feel as if they kicked in the guts and left dumb founded) will be far more satisfied (however the way human nature is, they will and hate themselves for doing so) ... I know I will find it almost impossible to play this game a second time with what I was presented with. I am so over dark rpgs I know I will not touch another from any game developer.

It's not so much that the ending is dark, it's that it's goddamn stupid.

I don´t play SP and stick to MP until something has been done. It cannot be that Bioware leaves so many fans complaining.

SPOILER!

the ending is fine, but atleast give us some sort of choice...

The only difference now is how it plays out, either a and b live, or they join up, or they all die.

and then after credits you get ported back to pre-cerberus base? wtf?

I wish someone had warned me but no, I stayed off the intrawebz.
I'd suggest anyone that hasn't finished the game and sees this thread just takes the advice.

So...there is no way for Bioware to fix this ending? Yes, it´s Bioware´s game so they have right to make their own end, but money is mine and I´m not interest in ME franchise anymore....sorry...I used to love Mass effect.
(sorry for bad english)

Even the posters who defended Bioware know that the ending sucks. (Myself included)

*Sigh*

Hoping for Bioware/EA to release a DLC and take more of my money.

This is good advice.
The game was amazing and then the ending just absolutely came out of nowhere.
The plot holes are dreadful, there is no closure and if you sit and think about the consequences for certain members of your crew / fleet you will be horrified.

Just turn it off before you get to the end and imagine the ending you want, seriously.

I believe I'm near the end, since I was told if I wanted to proceed or not. I will judge for myself. Even if it's god awful, I'd still want to play again since I'm currently doing the best paragon I can (everyone alive from first two games as best as I can).

I'm almost at the end, I wont' skip it, because to me, the endings aren't a problem. If someone told me that the end was this big happy celebration with a Star Wars kinda feel to it, I'd be pissed. But considering ME1 gave the "happy" ending, ME2 gave the "less happy but successful" ending, I fully expect ME3 to be the "painful as hell because this game likes to haunt you" ending. And from what I've read, I'll be pleased.

heh, thanks for the advice im going to wait until my friends finish the game and listen to the lamentations of the clinically depressed (because I wont warn them whats coming) Image IPB. lol

Ive seen Deus Ex: HR mentioned a number of times and I have to say while those endings supremely disappointed me (only replayed it for the pacifist achievement) it was a prequel that lead to the original so I understood why they couldn't have finite conclusions.

So a question to those who have completed it...

Is it a case of not having and endings as in none of the remaining threads are resolved and leaves many questions un answered? Or is it just a terrible ending due to writing as in all questions are answered but in an unsatisfactory fashion? Or is it a combination of the two where it seems the writers ultimate goal was to insult the players intelligence with some half-hearted attempt at something that if handled correctly could have worked nicely?

I haven't completed the game yet, but I've seen the spoilers and confirmed them with the official guide. In my case, it's definitely a combination of the two. It could have worked if certain parts were handled better. As it is, there are things that just don't make sense.
