I have been having problems with lag and framerate issues in Mass Effect 3 (PC).
The game stutters and frameskips badly when entering a new environment such as a new room or area and takes several seconds to recover. After that it performs fine until I enter the next area.
I'm also having trouble with the cutscenes which are having massive frameskips and pauses, in a couple of cases the dialogue got out of synch.
I have tried several fixes such as disabling/enabling vsynch, getting rid of the origin overlay, turing off anti aliasing (in game and in the nvidia control panel) and turing down visual effects such as shadows and motion blur.
I shouldn't have an hardware issues as I am running an ASUS NIvida GT 560 ti with the latest nvidia drivers, and a 6 core processor and 8gb ram.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Strange... I have the exact same problem with the same card and ram along with the same drivers (297.?), same ram and similar processor. I have also tried the same fixes that you mentioned. That narrows it down to:
8gb ram
560 ti
Nvidia drivers
64 bit issues (with nvidia drivers
multicore (unlikely)

Could be your harddrive. Had a similiar problem with another game, massive stutters when loading new areas, I fixed it by defragging the drive the game is installed on.

Defragging now, will see if it helps.

Defraggmenting helps but only partially. Others with other kinds of graphics cards are having the same problems so it appears to be issues with 64 bit compatibility.

For comparison, I have a 64-bit setup, and have not seen this issue at all. What kind of Hard Drive are you using, if you know? SATA / IDE? Cache size? RPM (or IO speed if it's solid state)?
For the record:
8GB RAM
Radeon HD 5850
AMD x6 CPU
WD SATA2 HDD w/64MB Cache

I am using a 30GB SSD for my OS, but the game is installed on a 1TB WD Sata HDD 7200rpm 32mb.
Mentioning hard disks, could the problem possibly be caused by not enough space in the program data folder?
What about processors? The main difference between our comps (excluding ATI/Nvidia, but some other guy had the same problem with an ATI: http://social.biowar...22659/1#9855728) is that you have an AMD core, I have intel.
Geforce 560 ti
intel core i7 (first gen)
8gb Corsair ram
Intel 30GB SSD (OS)
WD 1TB HDD (ME3)
Edit: Nvidia has just come out with a new driver claiming to "improve the ME3 experience". Will see if it helps.

Anyone found a fix to ati users? I have this same problem on HD6950 1GB.
Had the same annoying stuttering in Arkham City (uses the same engine)
Could this be related to Unreal engine texture streaming?

Stuttering + pausing screams texture streaming issues, my system is in my Sig and I get slight hickups here an there in new areas like the OP and sometimes extreme FPS drops which even with a 4890 in ME3 shouldn't happen, I hope there address this with a patch that optimises the engine a bit better then what it is atm....

I am having exactly the same problem. So far, I have seen it only in ME2 and ME3. DA2 and Skyrim are running smoothly as silk. Sounds like someone has done a bad job with the engine. Why to use that engine from the first place anyway.
