they need variation, the endings are all the same, unless you destroy synthetics and have 5000+ assets, but even then you live but you'll never see your crew or your LI, i wanted an ending with what liara says, to get lost in the stars for the rest of there lives, they'll be alone but they'll have each other

This ending was so bad that it should be illegal , yes a crime punishable by 10 years in jail , thats how bad it was so i doubt that europeans , Asians , Africans or anyone else would be into it , the Majority at least wont .

In Soviet Russia those endings hate us.
We respond symmetrically.

I've seen a better ending out of Babylon 5. There was war, there was death, there was sacrifice. But in the end the Hero's aka the people of Babylon 5 still came through and won. Some of the main characters died, but the fact remains that Sheridan, Delenn, Ivanova, Garibaldi, Franklin, G'Kar, Vir, Londo, and Lyta Alexander all at least had some closure. Sheridan died after 20 years after being brought back to life by Lucien in the series. Delenn was left to live out a life without him but they had 20 years together. G'Kar eventually got killed by Londo and he killed Londo in return. The Centauri homeworld was ravaged and still burned for 20 years or so. Lyta died in the Psi-War, Garibaldi got married and moved to mars, Franklin moved on with his life, Vir became emperor of the Centauri republic. Marcus Cole died at the end of Season 4 saving Ivanova but we later learn that he was put into cryo suspension until what he did could be reversed. He then went to a planet with a clone of Ivanova to live out the rest of his life and this is from the creator of the series who wrote this in an extended universe book much like how Bioware has used novels to extend the lore of Mass Effect. The point is though that Babylon 5 wasn't all sunshine and roses but the good guys won and many of them survived and was able to be with their loved ones.

These endings... poor taste and horrible.

I'm from Europe too, already finished the game and absolutely HATE the endings just as everyone else here. In quiet anger and disbelief awaiting the official response...

French here. Despise the ending, to the point I cannot even power up my PS3 again.

Why behind the times? Twitter is a silly fad that needs to die.

well I hope some sort of official response is coming soon to BSN, The community needs it right now.
@Dranume01 Many people haven't even gotten there yet. Give more people a chance to play then we'll talk. Things are spoiler free for now.

I can fully understand that they're waiting to get the full picture before making any decisions. They can't just decide to make new endings so easily, especially since they probably weren't planning to do so to begin with. Don't worry though, I'm sure the opinions on the ending of ME fans in the rest of the world will be the same. The people are just starting to finish the game now in Europe and so far most of them didn't like the ending either (and that's somewhat of an understatement). I hope everyone remains civil though, the kind of talk about how "Bioware only cares about money" is really not helping, these people put a lof of effort into the game and will certainly be dissapointed to see the negative reactions.

This is actually kind of beautiful. People from different countries coming together, uniting in one cause, against an enemy so idi- closed minded. Hoping to have the ability to create our own endings, rather than submit to their own.

I refuse to consider them as different endings. In the end, it's all the same. FTL has gone FUBAR, the Reapers are no longer a threat, and Shepard is forever alone. There. So much for the "16 different endings".

I'm as European as you can probably get, originally from Holland, lived in Switzerland (both German and French parts), France and London. And I hated those endings too. Have faith in your transatlantic cousins. :)

Also maybe people should take a bit more time to reflect and meditate on the ending instead of just being reactionary.

That's the worst Destroy ending variation. If you don't get enough assets.

Germany here. I don't like the way of the endings too. It's like: "I heard you like having influence with your decisions. So I made 3 nearly identical endings. Eat or die!"

Seriously BW?
I'm really interested what their apalogy is.

In German forums it is the same as here... the problem is not the endings itself. It is the lack of a logical conclusion and some sort of happy ending.

Agreed. B5 came my mind after this shockingly bad ending.

Babylon 5's last episode is definitely not a happy ending; in fact it is really sad, heartbreaking and beautiful moment. When you see the destruction of Babylon 5 which was the home of many beloved characters; when you see Delenn just sitting in the dawn - these are really emotional moments. Absolutely sad ending but every B5 fans loved it. I think Babylon 5 had the best ending in sci-fi history.

Mass Effect had the chance but the writers choose to create the worst ending in sci-fi history.
