If your LI happened to be single when you met them again and wanted to give it another go, sure, but I don't think anyone can blame them for have a relationship with someone else in the meantime

Thinking of finaly moving on when the love of your life is dead since 2 years sounds like a mature plan to me.
Trying to find some false stability in a world going to hell by having a baby with a nice normal girl... well that might not be a sign of maturity. Plus if you romanced him, he knows Shep isnt dead. She's jsut to much of a handful for him so he throws himself at someone else.

That's the ****tiest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. I'd take any renegade prompt when talking to Brynne since she ADMITS to going after Jacob even though she KNEW you were together. The worst part about this, now that I've had a few days to sit on this is: this was deliberate. Bioware knew what it was doing. The writers knew this was going to ****** a few people off.

But due to Jacob's lack of popularity, they knew it would be less than if they did it to any other LI. So I'd like to know exactly what they were trying to do with this. Why they thought it was a good idea. Because only people who realyl liked Jacob were going to be hurt by this. We are a minority, yes, but that doesn't mean we deserve this kind of ****, especially given that there appears to be no good reasoning behind it. In fact, there seems to be a bit a BAD reasoning behind it.

They're willing to go out of your way to put s/s LIs in the game(And DAMN, they are good ones, too!) and I love that they did so. It's a great step. But then you do this to people who already like something you've done?

I've never felt like I've lost out by being a Jacob fan before. Now I feel like I'm considered part of a garbage fanbase, not worth the effort of a decent romance continuation. Or ANY romance continuation.

Sadly... in real life, you can't always trust a man further than you can throw him. Kaiden sets himself up to be a reliably puppy dog choice when he states back in ME1 that he "doesn't take (sex) lightly."

And I was wary of Jacob when I found out he had a past with Miranda and acted like it was all cool to be working with her still. I don't like to be right. >_<

Miranda was an entirely different entity, we don't know exactly why they broke up but they'd buried their romantic past. This is entirely out of Character for Jacob Taylor and is character assasination. I refuse to acknowledge this as "charcter growth".

It really is sickening. Jacob, Thane, Jack, and Miranda romances were only for peoplee who played ME2. They didn't have to factor in new players in this. And they still messed it up.

haha how about directing that rage toward whatever writers thought that this was a good idea?

I'm not a huge Jacob fan, but I have to say, I really feel for those who romanced him in ME2. That's a serious kick in the nads. :/ If the writers were trying to go for a more "realistic" situation - people cheat in real life, after all - then I get that, but... man. That's just utterly heartbreaking for a Jacob loyalist.

Actually, the continuation of Tali's romance is really quite beautiful and well written (it's also, to my knowledge, the only time Shepard and his LI actually flirt with each other during missions).... haven't played through my Garrus romanced FemShep yet, but I've seen a few clips on YouTube and I'm generally impressed with it.

Really a damn shame for the Jacob fans, though... I never romanced him myself, but I thought he was a decent, down-to-earth character in ME2, so I can understand how much of a betrayal that his story in ME3 is to his fanbase.

Tali and Garrus are very well handled. Miranda isnt so bad. Its mostly Jacob, Jack and Thane who didnt get enough attention.

I meant besides them. They are not temporary characters like other LI.

But  Jack and Miranda both have a lot of upsides(The N7 tattoo line is hilarious, and Miranda actually has a fade-to-black). And Thane as a character is done the most justice(as a character) out of the bunch with his AWSOME fight with Kai Leng and a very stirring deathbed scene. The only things that were lacking with his romance were more romance-exclusive interaction and some way of Shepard mentioning that the romance mattered to her. 

Jacob's ME3 'romance' has NOTHING to redeem it.

How is it that when Thane gets stabbed through by Kai Leng he lingers on and can have a death sequence but when Shepard gets stabbed similarly it's immediate game over because she's dead?

Thane really did have justice done to his character. I wish there had been a way to save him, but the fact that there wasn't makes his death scene hit all the harder, but in a  poignantly tearjerking way. If Jacob recieved HALF the work Thane did, this kind of **** wouldn't have happened.

Unfortunately, they deemed it necessary to cut out a **** ton of dialogue from his disgusting, cop out, not necessary death scene.

No, not necesary, but I'd take Thane's treatment over Jacob's any day. Still, you're right. Thane/Jacob fans all got shat on. And getting into a competition over who got shat on the most is the opposite of what we should be doing. We should be standing together on this kind of poor treatment. We were worth a LOT more effort than this.
