I thought the whole situation with Jacob Taylor's romance options were cruel and unsatisfying. It's almost like they forgot how his character was on the second game. It's almost like he's a completely different person.

I'm a Thane-mancer, through and through, but I still want to put in my support for the Jacob-mancers. You guys got such a raw deal it's borderline criminal.

I've not gotten around to my Jacob romance but I got a sinking feeling on his side quest/citadel and he mentioned the baby. I had a niggling feeling the dialogue wasn't going to be any different had I been in a romance with him and this forum has proved me right 
Its a rubbish way to deal with a perfectly good romance and its so unfair to just be brushed to the side becasue he wasnt a popular character. I also am sorry to hear about Thane romance as he was one of my faves from ME2 as well, but at least he got some emotive cut scenes rather than being an ass.
The stereotyping is also quite disturbing, esp when you think back to how they portrayed his father as a sex trafficking pimp in ME2, his son is then a 'playa' in ME3 who'll cheat and not even be apologetic/remorseful about it. Its worse when it seems a complete 180 personality switch, he was portrayed to be a loyal/dependable guy, someone to prop shep up on a bad day - I just dont get it, even if the romance was doomed to failure they could have handled it more tastefully!

You are not wrong. Very well said. It is the character arcs of Jacob an Thane (especially when romanced) being tossed out the window in me3, that is such a slap in the face to their fans. Why they would intentionally do this.....I have no words. (actually that is a lie, I have words, but would probably get me bounced, and most certainly filtered, if written.)

then the baby thing came and i just thought: alright...a nice idea, wish him all the best, even if he seem to be angry with my shep (and i don't know why) but wait... o.o hopefully it is better for the romancers... *going to youtube* checking* pause* WHAT???? o.o
i was really, really shocked of how his romance turn out. i found it more shocking than thane ( i never thought that this could happen)
jacob never was a character who will ever betray shepard. he was the one who keeps the cerberus and non ceberus squadies in equal and he always supported what shep did. so i find it soo damn cruel, what bioware made out of him
even if he was not so popular, that was not an excuse

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Analyzed the dialogue and everything. But I was wrong.
And to to be honest, I don't think Jack, Miranda or Thane get the shaft to the degree that Jacob does. I think Bioware does justice to them as characters, and honors their roamnces admirably. Maybe.). And his death scene is damn touching, romance or no.
But Jacob gets this? Bull****.
I agree with everyone present here on the matter of Jacob's bull**** cheating. Nothing about that scene fits his established character as we know it. Every romance in the game was handled better than Jacob's. Except for the lack of closure on your attempt to hit on Samara in ME2 (was not even brought up in ME3). It's like they were trying to force Fem Sheps into a corner with Garrus, Kaidan or Liara. Thane's romance though, well, I thought it was beautiful. You re-united with him and then he saves the Council in the most badass way possible. His death scene was extremely touching, including the last words Fem Shep has for him. Truly amazing moment (and it makes it more reasonable to choose a end-game choice that results in Shepard's apparent death) in ME3 if you ask me. But Jacob? He apparently couldn't wait six months. *Sigh* =_='

The Romance DLC Survey ends today at 3pm EST. Yesterday we were sitting at whopping 7,500 responses! We're trying to get as close to 10K as we can!
If you haven't yet taken it, and are interested, PLEASE pop over there and take the survey (see link in my sig). It will only take 5 minutes of your time...unless you like to make comments.
Results will be analyzed statistically, summarized into a report, and sent to Bioware. If you want to be heard on this issue, this is the best way to do it!

it didn't bother me too much. my femshep romanced him in ME2 during a recent playthrough, but then i decided to kinda test the waters in ME3 and try different romances as i'm playing... ended up romancing traynor (still playing it actually), and then right after i did the cerberus mission and jacob wouldn't kiss femshep. it was kinda fun to play out the angry vengeful responses (particularly since femshep's been a paragon 95% of the time)... hey, sure she was sorta sleeping around with everyone, but even she can feel betrayed at times. 
anyway, i decided to look up others' reactions and it seems he was gonna dump femshep anyway. i guess it's for the best since the game is sorta realistic on the fact that not everyone is going to want to keep up a relationship when they have no clue what's going on with the other person for a long period of time. people grow apart, it's just the way of life. oh well, i was more surprised that liara got so pissed at femshep when she got the news about traynor. i guess i'll finish this one up with traynor and pursue another relationship the next time.
