Done with Bioware.

A truly amazing series finished with an ending that makes you laugh and say "Now tell me what really happened, because Bioware always tells an amazing story and that was just garbage.".
First Dragon Age 2 is half arsed and now you ruin Mass Effect 3? Good bye, I won't waste another dime on anything you so much as look at because the Mass Effect series is now dead to me. I'm sure that there's a ton of people done with your games after this, so enjoy your failed attempt at making/selling a new game. I'll be laughing real hard when it sells 8 copies

I haven't played DA II since I didn't really care for the first one.
Would someone mind explaining to me what they did? Was it similar?

Just venting my anger, DA2 wasn't complete garbage, but the story isn't what you'd expect from Bioware. The ending in ME3 is certainly not what you would expect from Bioware.
I'm not trying to get them to change, I just want them to know how many die hard Bioware fans they just lost by ruining the Mass effect series like this.

No, but most people on the boards didn't like it at all. It's a touchy subject, so best to just let it go. :-)

The really, really short answer to that is that many people felt that DA2 was not a true sequel because it departed from most of the "standards" that Drwgon Age Origins created. Also may players felt that it was an attempt to bring in new fans at the expense of long-time loyal Bioware fans. It's still a contentious topic.

That is a whole different battle. Go read that board there are some really angry posts on there. I think I discovered the answer to why it happened not long ago. I think DA2 was just a the Demo for another EA game that came out this year.

In light of the similarities, I'd like to offer my condolences to the fans who have had to suffer through this twice now

I actually liked the game. The story pales to Origins though, but it's still decent. However, it also has a nickname that is, "Dragon Age II: Kirkwall" as the majority of the time is spent there, or the areas are recycled leaving people to call out Bioware on their laziness.
Decent game, but it doesn't hold a flame to the first one.

DA2 was also panned but for completely different reasons. People came into DA2 expecting another Origins, and DA2 just kind of does its own thing, which is not what fans of Origins wanted. Also, recycled maps.

Granted. The story, game play, and the character development are great, however the ending really ruined the Mass Effect series for me. I can't do another whole series play through because it would feel pointless and I can't bring myself to buy another Bioware product because I feel as if I'd be setting myself up for disappointment.

As one of those fans, Bioware isn't getting the chance at a third strike
About the only good thing I remember of DA2 were the Ass Animations as you ran, I mention that as it seems both hilarious and fitting.

The only thing I truely hated was the recycled maps. I could replay DA2 despite the ending. I don't think I could ever bring myself to play any ME game again. The end just tainted everything for me.

Not completely different reasons.
DA2 also had an ending that presented you with a major binary choice but still had everything play out much the same way with only minor variations depending on that choice.

Woah woah woah. Hold up.
Good ass animations while running? And they couldn't even give femshep that!?
Sad

story was good, gameplay was good. the problem it had were objectively bad and unforgiveable, but a game as a whole it was still solid.
Dragon age 2 was hated for obvious reason, going into it people already had their hate for it.
ME3 had some of the same 'going into it hating' hate. but that had to do with CODing it up and dumbing it down and such.
the terrible endings are a curve ball, this is legitimate flaw

Unless they add something in a free DLC, I am pretty much done with BioWare too. It's sad too, because I fought for them trying to tell people to keep an open mind and giev them the benefit of the doubt. How foolish I was. I even fought with TotalBiscut on youtube about the day-one DLC. And then I get shafted like this? Really? Oh, and yes, I said free dlc. I paid ten bucks for a whole plotline and character that was left out, so I think I deserve a free dlc to tell me what really happened.
I'll admit it. I tried defending them once I reached acceptance. I hadn't finished the game yet, but everything up until that point, included the scripted deaths, were done so well that I figured it couldn't be *that* bad.
But it was. I had also avoided the Catalyst VA leaks up until then, so in the midst of my misery, I burst out laughing.
That was somewhat nice ;(

This. After investing all that time into the Mass Effect series it has been ruined. I enjoyed the ride, but there just isn't a light at the end of the tunnel.
