There's really no good male character for female shep to romance besides garrus.

Thane : Dies sad but good romance i guess no good ending
Jacob: Cheats on you has a child
Kadian: Super bland could not stand him even as fem shep killed him kept ashley.

That leaves garrus....

The ending makes the Garrus romance sad as well. :(

Bioware must assume females like sad and sappy romances that make them cry and feel emotional.

From what I've heard, Garrus/FemShep is the very best romance in the game; so I doubt it qualifies as 'bad.' Is there no FemShep/Vega romance? He's a pretty cool guy, in my book. And Kaiden's and Liara's are supposed to be well-written, too. That seems like an reasonable, quality selection, unless your tastes are very specific.

I have been told Vega is not a romance.

Not everyone thinks that Kaidan is bland. Also if you want you can include Joker: Rejects you immediately for an AI

You get Garrus and Liara which more than makes up for everything.

I've heard so many good things about the ME3 Garrus romance, but it looks like I won't see it for myself. I was going to import one of my Garrus-romancing Sheps for my second playthrough, but with those endings, I just can't be bothered to play the game again.

It still is worth it. Trust me.

Actually, the last Garrus conversation is possibly the greatest conversation to ever occur in the game imo. Yes, it's sad, but the voice actors' delivery are so spot on. I really came close to bursting into tears.

Until Liara pops out of nowhere in that flashback sequence and Garrus remains nowhere to be seen.

Garrus' romance hands down is the best. I think what made it the best was since it never really occurred to them until the second game that they could be more than friends, it evolved naturally. Everyone else seemed to consider it rather quickly in their own way that they could see themselves with Shep.

So it was a lot like: "We should try it, might be fun" to "Damn, I really want this more than anything else I thought possible."

If romanced Thane in Mass Effect 2 the choices this time around are pretty screwed, that is, if we don't count all the female options offered for hot girly love for male players, (I know Asari is technically both but you know what I mean) there is only Kaidan.. And he was deemed idiot already in the first game.. At least give us an option to start anew with Garrus when Thane dies..

I wouldn't say it's all bad. Trust me, I had a really hard time with Kaidan as a character alone. I did it just to see what it means to Bioware to stay loyal. I felt it was worth it for our date and romance scene.

Blue ****.

But yeah - they need to fix that. I want to see my LI.

edit: Garrus romance was one of the most fulfilling parts of the game. Ended on a sad note but it gave me closure because FemShep had the balls to address what would happen if things went wrong. and the lines were delivered perfectly.

It's pretty obvious Bioware want women to get in on with other women.

Just kidding but if you look only 2/6 of the FemShep romance are male. 4/6 are all women.

I love the game, loved it all from the start. So insert here all the positive things that I think but fail to write down (since this usually is the case, people only write down the complaints not the praise). With one critics though.

Why is it that male Shephards have MORE male romance options then female Shepards?

I difficultly, but can accept that making girls romancable for both men and women is low resource solution thus executable. Seriously, 3 women to date and a single guy if you are a girl?
Me, a heterosexual girl, with no issues with gay people, still want to have my own fun. An option to chose from heterosexual love interest. I never thought I ever come to saying, I start to feel discriminated for not having fun in non-conventional love affairs. I am fine with a DLC that makes this possible, like a companion that offers an alternative. I understand, that there are different people and different things they like, which is all fine. I just want to have my own share of interests, which I don't. Please devs, think on heterosexual girls too, we might not represent te biggest market share, but we are here and we do buy the game.

Honestly, ME3 romances are messed up. They went too far with S/S stuff if you ask me.

All in all I don't see what all the ruckus about same sex love interests is. Dragon age origins had options for both sides and in Dragon Age 2 simply all romance options were for both. Mass Effect has been more conservative and now that they add those "OMG Gay couples" they forget everything else. I don't understand, is it that in fantasy setting everything goes but when we come to scifi setting (and thus more realist?!) , such things become a big question of morale. I wouldn't complain all that much if in actuality all imported romances could be continued, but apparently those who chose Thane or Jacob in particular are a bit screwed (that will be, both were male options for female characters) Gets me thinking they only assume guys play this game, and even those who play fem Shephard want to see some girl love..

I saw the Garrus romance scenes in YouTube and it was really well written, very emotional and Garrus is a total gentleman of the badass kind. Also you have Liara for femShep which is also another extremely well written romance.

Man I’m glad I romanced Garrus with my female shep play though. Had a feeling that something like this would happen though. Perhaps a dlc to change this outcomes for people who chose their mass effect 2 romances would be good. I know I would support it, as it would make the game far more enjoyable for people. And it would help with replayability.

My objection is merely to the lack of heterosexual options for girls.
Every other preferences have choices. We don't. Either Kaiden or none.
I am all for others having choices too, yay. But maybe if there were one less lesbian choice and one more hetero choice, it would have been the same time need to develop and I would whine less.

I am kinda mad I dumped Garrus for Kaidan.. I wanted to see how the Kaidan romance would be, I expected more, and a future where Shepard can have a family or something, but if there's no hope then I can't see why my Shepard wouldn't spend her last happy moments with the one who never left her side.. I gotta start over and keep Garrus, he's the best!

It's not fair that MShep gets all of his LIs back, plus gets Kaidan, while FemShep loses Jacob and Thane and doesn't get any additional LI. I expected Vega to be one, why isn't he?

Hah that wouldn't be worse than our current choices..

FemShep gets ugly aliens in ME2 while MShep gets an alien that looks almost human.. Yeah..

Why not a Hanar?
