The scene with the Catalyst was pretty amazing at least.

I'm not referring to the part where he starts to introduce the choices to you, cause that's where things start to go south. But before that i thought everything was pretty amazing. The music in this scene is absolutely fantastic and the scenary with the Reaper battle going on in the background was quite a sight. Both Meer and Hale did an excellent job voicing this scene and it was pretty sad to see Shepard in such a beaten down state. I'm sure some people thought the Catalyst taking the form of the boy was pretty cheesy, but at least it didn't insult your intelligence about it by having Shepard go "Hey you're that kid..."

Sure it looked amazing. Most of the game was amazing. That doesn't make up for the WTF moments, though. The catalyst was like matrix revolutions 2.0.

I agree with you. I understand that people may not like it, but it's pretty surprising and well made. I found it tremendously cool when it shows you the reapers: "The old life is stored in reaper form". I don't know, I found that pretty profound. Resonates with that eastern idea that evil is merely misplaced good, so to speak.

I'm so frustrated that they could go for such a memorable experience almost all the way through, and as you say, make it go south when it comes to choices and how they play out, which is less than 10 minutes of screen time.

I almost felt like the entity he should have been talking to was some form of Harbinger and the conversation should have been more of a confrontational argument than a friendly chat. destroy/control option should of been more of like the last blow to your enemy than a choice presented to you by something that is willing let you stop it even though it believes stopping it is a mistake.

wtb DLC where the child VA is replaced by Morgan Freeman.

Perhaps his soothing tone will ease the pain of going through that ending on my NG+/final playthrough of ME3.

Nope, sorry, I can't like it. This scene is visually wonderful, but everything else makes me cringe.

I would probably have liked it more if the Catalyst was under the form of a creepy voice, GLaDOS style.

I love the scene, it's just the endings that follow ruin it.

The catalyst, like all of the endings, was indeed excellent.

I don't get the kids logic of the civilization being stored in Reaper form. They are not, in any shape or form, a culmination of that civilization and it's values... you're just using their juices for the synthetic bits. Their history, culture, ideals, hopes, dreams, etc, etc, etc are all wiped away by this jack ass AI God who controls them to be killing machines with an "unfathomable" purpose that is... I made you into a synthetic because synthetics you made would have eventually killed you so I saved you from being killed by syntheitcs? NO YOU DIDN'T ****... they're no longer what they were, they're just some stupid VI in a dreadnuaght/destroyer body with a massive megolomaniac/ego.

It's like saying that VI program in the refugee camp is Shepard ASCENDED INTO PERFECT SYNTHETIC FORM... *facepalm*

Too much emphasis on the child figure.

I understood the nightmares Shepard was having about the kid, but to have it be an image of the very same child was kind of meh to me.

I would have rather of seen something similiar to Vigil or Glyph, not an image of a human child.

(inb4 BUT SHEPARD IS HUMAN TO SO IT SHOWED SOMETHING SIMILIAR)

I'll have to add that the kid's VA is way better than Chobot's. I'll have to agree I liked it until I was presented with the choices. Why the hell would I want any of them... Why would a paragon Shep want to take any of them. Kill the synthetic? No, he/she fought to reunite the Geth and the Quarians, and he/she aided EDI to become independent. Merge them? why would I interfere with other's lives in that way, organics should have a way to decide their future. Control the reapers? I just killed TIM because that's not the way to go (though I'll admit that it's probably the end a Renegade would take).

And the we have no epilogue, no closure. It doesn't matter what we choose, you still are left with a WTF happened to the galaxy. So yeah, the whole man vs all-powerful kid that represents the end of everything is cool, the music, the visuals, and the atmosphere are great. What comes after it S U C K S!

I would have asked for my name to be removed from the credits as it currently stands. That ending is just AMAZING...LY BAD.

Oh my, yes, there's an insurmountable feat that will live in multimedia entertainment history that shall naught be paralleled again. Truly, it was the Citizen Kane, nay, the Cistine Chapel of video games and voice acting alike.

They could have had Tourette's Guy voice the Guardian and it still would have been better than Jessica Chobot. Hell I'd pay to hear that.
