I got this on one ending (Eamon stayed in Denerim and Teagan took over Redcliffe) and not on another - do we know what the trigger is for Teagan's love story?

I think it depends on how much money you give Kaitlyn for the sword.

FYI, if you want Teagan to marry Kaitlyn, you need to give her the max amount of cash, that way she has enough money to make something of herself in Denerim, which in turn, makes her be in court by chance while Teagen visits, and causes them to fall in love.

I can't make Kaitlyn take the stupid sword. She keeps making me keep it and then Sten keeps making me give her money so she can go marry Teagan...it's very sad.

When in Redcliff I only ever walk around with Alistair, because of his family secret and all - don't want the other party members knowing of it yet - and I always want him to start on Teagan for the Flirting... The thought of them two fighting over lil' ol' me just sends my heart a flutter!

I am afraid that I too would much rather have a romance with the good Bann Teagan. I don't think he is sleeping with Isolde but I think that she may have a crush on him. I couldn't see Teagan acting on it, though she may try. He loves his brother and wouldn't hurt him.



Unfortunately the only time you get to flirt with him is in the Chantry and I would have liked to be able to continue that flirtation whenever I got the chance to visit Redcliffe. Oh well, I can dream... lol.



I thought it strange that he showed up in Denerim at the end after being told that he would stay in Redcliffe. I had hoped that he would go to Denerim, and was disappointed when Eamon said he wouldn't be there. I just wanted one last look at him I guess... Well at least he didn't disappoint me. Maybe he wanted one last look at me too.... hmmm...

If I were to recruit anyone for the Grey Warden's, it would be Bann Teagan. He just seems so level headed unlike Alistair and Loghain. I liked the part when he says that he wasn't fighting for glory, but to save Redcliffe. Although, I think Loghain would've been the best companion, but only if he was around the age the Stolen Throne is based on.

Theres a line where you can insist she takes it, that it belongs in the family. Thats weird you don't get that line. Glitch maybe.

I wasn't aware that you could give the sword back, since I have always spoken to Kaitlyn about Bevan and the sword before the battle. And obviously it would make no sense to give it back before the battle. At that point, you can give her money if you choose the "I need to talk to you about your grandfather's sword" option as your first conversation choice. If you choose another conversation option first, then you cannot give her any money at all.

It may, therefore, be worth making a quicksave before talking to her, and trying different conversation options in different orders. Did you talk about the sword first?

On another, related note, I read somewhere that if you return the sword to Kaitlyn, but give Bella the maximum money then she goes to Denerim and you get Teaghan marrying her instead of Kaitlyn. Is this true? On the occasions where I've had Bella go to Denerim and open a brewery, Kaitlyn has also gone to Denerim, so she snaffles him instead.

I've never been able to get either ending and since I like the Bella gets the Tavern card and the Bevin becoms an adventurer card, I guess those are good enough cause I KNOW how to get them.  Even when I gave Bella 5g to get away from Lloyd's I got no card on her at all.  And I've given Kaitlyn 5g for that chintzy sword.  No card on her either.

I've always gotten the Kaitlyn starts a foundry, gets rich, marries Teaghan (the skank!) and Bella starts a brewery in Denerim.

I've still got at least 3/4 characters at pre-Redcliffe, so I may try for returning the sword after the battle (feel so dumb I didn't catch that one before, lol) and either leaving Teaghan for myself (yummy) or try for the Bella one.

I dunno, I feel sorry for Bella, but would a woman who seems to have been prostituting herself in the inn be right for Teaghan? Maybe not, so I think I'll leave him free to romance me.

Edit: one of those characters is male, I just realised, so Bella can have him then (just so I can see if it really does happen).

I never got the impression Bella was whoring herself out. Yeah, she kisses you but Kaitlyn will do it, too, and it was only after you gave her five sovereign. Plus the shocked look the men get when she does it make me think that doesn't happen and she's unhappy with Lloyd trying to grope her all the time.

Hmmm, maybe it's the 'how's business been', combined with 'what do you want in return', and offering to take her with you (obviously not as a fighter). She just gave off that vibe to me. Now, I'm not making any comments on what other options she had available to her, I just got the feeling that that's what she did - and that Lloyd felt he could have free samples, as it were.

Maybe I'm completely wrong.

Edit: thinking back (it's been a while since I had a male character at Redcliffe, most of my characters are female and not interested in gurls) it may have been the 'just a kiss' that did it. I'm paraphrasing from memory and may have the words wrong, but I got the impression that only a kiss was the gentlemanly/chivalrous option, but that asking much more was not out of the question. Indeed, the arch looks she gives strengthened the impression. Kaitlyn acts young and innocent - Bella most emphatically does not.
