is it possible?
I can't change what the buttons 1-8 do by dragging abilites? Is this turned of? I really don't want to have Sing 1 warp 2 in MP mode then goto SP and have Sing 2 warp 3, its just annoying.
I've tried dragging like in ME1 and ME2 in and out of combat... really annoying, also search function didn't help..
(Rebinding won't help becuase it will just mess me up in SP)
Change MP power to button assignment

I am also having this problem, I was hoping there was a quick solution but I can't seem to find one. If it turns out that you can't reassign powers in MP then i will just have to reassign them in SP to what they are in MP and readjust.

shouldn't have to 'readjust'
Seems like a very simple thing to allow you to set up and far less obtrusive than adjusting my equipment. Just gimme a hotkey list and lemme assign em. simple.

Vanguards charge is mapped to the Y button on the xbox, it's annoying. Also if I only have two powers why not auto assign them to the two bumper buttons, Y is the most inconvenient of the three.

Same problem with reave on my drell adept. I'd much rather have the less frequently used power assigned to the y button (in his case the grenade) with pull and reave on the bumpers.

The one that kills me the most is the Salarian Engineer - his unique ability ISN'T mapped to Y. He's the only one that's like that.

Yeah, you can't drag & drop in MP. I just change key bindings every time. A bit of annoying but it takes 30 seconds max.

while we're at it, change the cover/sprint button & revive buttons to be customizable to separate buttons... can't count how many times I wanted to sprint but end up going to cover instead

Also annoying is when you have similar abilities on different characters, being bound to different buttons. Asari stasis being the biggest culprit (1 on adepts, which is bound to charge on vanguards...).

Best solution is what Totally_Mad_Rat said, but it would be nice to be able to drag them to a slot.
I also totally agree about the jump, cover, run key. Really annoying sometimes, when you want to get away fast out of a sticky situation and your character doesn't move his ** ;-)

I approve of these changes myself. Why can't you move the powers on your buttons? What bright idea was it to lock them in place? I mean seriously that was the worst idea ever.

I've wanted to be able to assign the powers to the buttons myself since I first played multiplayer. There are many classes I just don't use, because I can't adjust to the button maps.
It does seem basic, because it was inherent to the single player mode of all three games (you could only map one power in the first Mass Effect, though).
