nope.. i have a 1TB HD and all i can save is 50 ... not that!

Yup.  Ridiculously stupid decision there. Especially given the dismal failure that DA2 was, and learning to save after every conversation or fight because you never knew where the next crash was.

I've gotten around it by duplicating the save folder, then clearing out everything but the most recent numbered save, and the autosaves. It's a pain in the rear, but it works, and leaves you with save points to restore to when you run into game stopping bugs like the Tutchanka rescue mission, etc.. that leaves you unable to complete the mission.

I'm seriously starting to wonder if the ME3 team is the same bunch of dyslexic primates that coded DA2.

Not sure why you have a limit of 50 I'm already at around 100 saves (I save a lot, don't like autosave especially corrupted autosave-slots,...)

If you save often (like me) remember to move your saves from the save directory to a different folder every now and then. Just don't leave them in the Mass Effect 3 folder (for example copying and naming it "Saves" or "Save 2" instead of "Save") since they are going to slow down the loading time...

Delusion83, the limit is on the amount of save files not on the number of times you have saved the games. So that you can overwrite indefinitely but you can have only  50 save files at a time.

Well you can do something to have more saves. You have to enable the console in ME3, you can do this by googling, basically using a hex editor to hack the exe, all the info is on the Wiki. After that you can make how many saves you want by using ~ to open console and typing: savegame name to save it. It works great. I can put a hexed exe for download if you don't want to hex it, but not on this site...

You launch game with exe
You load game
You press ~
You type: savegame 1 (or any other name you want to give it) such as: savegame tuchanka

You need to have ME3 updated to 1.3 for this to work. Also I do not recommend using this with multiplayer, only single player.
