After I found him it took me like 10 minutes to actually catch him.

He is running around where Jack was in ME2

I have no idea why I spent as long as I did trying to catch him, but it was way longer than it should have taken

Catching that little SOB was the greatest, most fulfilling moment of triumph I had before curing the genophage.
And it was still more rewarding and fulfilling than the end...just sayin'.

I wonder if you have to have him in ME2 first?
You know, maybe he carries across.
But yeah, hes on deck 4:engineering.
Go down the steps where Jack used to sleep and just wait a moment

when i first saw him i was like
NO WAY
so i waited
then boom, he showed up again... i was like YAY
=D
And yes i suspect you need to have him in ME2 to have him carry over. This is sort of a game that is tailored to that ideology (Except the endings...those don't seem to be tailored to any sort of ideology)

You need to have bought Boo in ME2.
Then in ME3, he ends up where Jack was in ME2, and you have to catch him as he scurries around.
If you miss him, just back off, come back and he'll run again.
He's hard to catch, but keep trying and if you catch him, he'll be right where he was in ME2, in Shepard's cabin in the same exact tank in the same place.
Same animation when you check on him too.

I catched him as soon as I saw him lol. It was hilarious, I went down to Jack's old room to find the ship models and then saw the interaction mark-up moving in the corner right as I was about to leave. I looked and went "THAT'S MY HAMSTER!!!! GET HIM!!!111" and managed to snatch him back the first chance right before he was about to disappear in a pile of boxes xDDD

AND HELL YES IT WAS FUN CATCHING HIM.
So rewarding.
Unlike the endings of the game.

QFT.
I was so depressed at the loss of Shepard's things... especially after importing my one and only ME2 playthrough where I managed to keep all my fish alive through the whole game without whoring myself out to the redhead...and then I hit the engineering deck and as I'm searching for my models I hear that little squeak.... I swear I teared up a bit.
