So yeah, we all know the endings are terrible. How the galaxy will pick up the pieces after the relays are destroyed are anyone guess.
No, this thread is my idea of how they will fit the next game into ME4 with such a ridiculous choice of jumping into that beam. And i think that fit is simple, it wont be canon.
No i dont mean its terrible they wont make it canon, im saying just like dying at the end of ME2 is a ending you can have, its just not importable into the next game.
I think the control/destroy options are the only ones that will matter for an import into ME4, just like saving or letting the council die. These are big choices that can be managed without actualy making the choices matter in the end.
It just seems like familiar pattern is all.... asuming the next Mass Effect after ME3 is ME4, and asuming there is importing.
The next mass effect game. How it will deal with multiple endings.

ME3 marked the end of Shepard's story and because I feel massively boned up the rear by Bioware I will not be partaking in ME4 if there is one.

There cannot feasibly be another ME game that we would even recognize as ME.

That's the thing. I don't know that they could do more that takes place after ME3. Obviously, Shepard is done, but the mass relays are gone. Sure, plenty of other tech is around, but the premise of destroying the relays is that the galaxy would continue onward without Reaper tech.

Here's how it'll deal with the mutliple endings - without me, my universe that I loved was destroyed.

If they can make Udina councilor no matter what your choice in ME2 was without explanation, they can also ignore the endings when they make ME4.

Mass Effect 4? This series was a trilogy was it not?

This is probably why the endings are all different shades of gray
so they can tie them together very nicely in the next portion of this franchises expansion.
Vary them to deeply, and you wind up having to make like 5 different games....This way, you get the bland tasteless generic feeling that we all wound up with, but it makes making the next game easier.
(I think we saw a lil bit of this in DA2 and one other game...i can't remember...maybe it was ME2 also, or maybe it was like kotor 2...)

I could pay Bioware $60 x 3 for another ME trilogy, only to watch them screw that up in the end again...
Or I could just save $180 by pretending like the ME3 ending didn't happen and replacing it with head-cannon.
I think I like the second option.
...or BW could add in good endings to ME3 and I might actually buy more of their games in the future. This is by far, the best option.

if they even dared to attempt a mass effect without shepard, they would be throwing alot of money down the shoot, cuz i doubt many would be interested.

It end's Shepard's trilogy.
They never said ME3 would be the last Mass Effect game, and if ME3 sells anywhere near as good as EA hopes, you damn well know they're going to milk that cow.

Next game in the Mass Effect franchise will undoubtedly be a prequel in some form or another. The three endings create entirely different universes (albeit all without mass relays): one that's more or less the same as how Shepard left it, another where everyone is a biosynthetic being, and a third where all synthetics (and presumably technology, since the blast doesn't seem to discriminate) is gone.
Any sequel will have to pick one of those endings to be canon, effectively giving anyone who did like the endings and picked the other non-canon choices the middle finger. That seems like a bad way to continue the franchise.

You think I'd buy another Mass Effect game after these endings?

i starting out hating ME3 before it came out. Why? ME2 burned me. it burned me gameplay wise. so i spent alot of time digging to find all evidence of ME3s combat so i knew whether or not i would buy it or not.405thRazgriz wrote...

alot of digging and a demo conviced me that my problems where fixed, and i was right. without that demo i might not have even bought ME3.
For the next mass effect however i will be digging for ever story spoiler i can. The way they fix that horrible problem will the deciding factor in my purchase of the next mass effect game, the same way the demo was for mass effect 3.

Franchise isn't done. Mac said that theyre simply done with this time period. Meaning they're going to either go to the future, or past. Most likely the past, something between the end of the first contact war and me1.

Reset button, recon along the lines of Leiliana in DA2, or prequel. I don't think I'd buy them unless I get fixed endings for ME3.

Now that would be a way to get the endings captain obvious, if enough fans boycott their dlc until we get dlc endings... Pass it on people.
