Saw this posted elsewhere, figured I'd share. This is from pre-release, so it's not a response to the outcry but nonetheless seems like an anticipation of it.

http://playstationli...erent-endings/

My favorite part:  "How could you go through all three campaigns playing as your Shepard and then be forced into a bespoke ending that everyone gets?"

How indeed.

"There are many different endings. We wouldn’t do it any other way."

Damn liars. How can I trust them after this?

"In order to craft an experience that really delivers on this promise, BioWare has had to fashion numerous different endings that hinge on the choices made by the player over the course of the entire series."

They spun it so well through dev. talk. If you sort through their comments, there's generally just enough wiggle room to avoid directly calling them liars.

"many" = 7 variations of 3 endings, for example :P

I swear, BioWare did everything up until Citadel: The Return, then outsourced it to China. With no backstory.

Japan would make more sense, they do all sorts of crazy stuff in Japan. Chinese would probably think of something more logical.

you all expect too much. i actually liked the endings. god forbid they leave you to think about how the events 1 place effect other places / people.

^ This

Thank you Bioware. The series was great. Three installements and five years of anticipation were all burned to the ground in a few minutes though. That is just my personal opinion anyways.

is it really 21 different endings. My three were really the same. Same faces, same destinations, just a different color.

I'm laughing, and not in a good way.

I can't wait until our friends across the pond start to get in on these discussions.

See they say "different", but to me changing the color scheme while pretty much the exact same events happen each time isnt really different. Its pretty much 1 ending IMO.

Oh no, please don't mistake my post for supporting them. What I'm saying is that they phrased it so cleverly that they skirted around telling the full truth behind the game while still hyping it up to generate pre-orders.

Yeah, I agree they're liars and cheats. I feel cheated. What I'm saying is, they spun it in such a way that you can go back and see how they're only telling half-truths.

Oh it makes you think alright.  Like thinking about how the cruicible/AI/whateveritis because they didn't tell us anything other than heres your choices.  The only question it raised in my mind was if the thing was already on the citadel why didn't it just open the relays in before ME1.  Making the entire series pointless.
