I purchased the From Ashes DLC and have progressed far enough to get the new team member.
Lately, the past 2 days, I start up my Mass Effect 3 game and get the error message "Unable to communicate with Mass Effect 3 server"
I then attempt to load my saved game. When I do this I get an error messaging saying that because my saved game is linked to the From Ashes DLC I cannot start my saved game.
So this basically means that the DLC that I have downloaded onto my computer can only be used if I have communication with the mass effect 3 server.
So I basically have to sit there and try to refresh and restart the game for 20 minutes and hope eventually I will get communication to the server to even play my local game.
Why is content that I legitmely payed for blocking me from even playing my local saved game, when your server goes down.
This is extremely frustrating, I am not trying to play a network game and I have a very fast internet provider.
Please fix this and stop locking the DLC content so that saved games cannot even load.

Same here. Same timeframe (last two days), and same issue.

Everyone who pirated the game and the DLC can play it now; everyone like me who paid $70-$80 for it can not.

The thing I don't get is a $10 DLC isn't worth me being locked out of my $70 game, if I knew this in the beginning I wouldn't have even bothered with buying the DLC and probably won't in the future after this mess.
The pirating community is always going to be around, draconian techniques like this just ****** off the players who have legally bought the game. I just don't understand the logic behind this at all.
This whole thing seems like a last minute EA lawyer decision.

I think I may have found a solution or something to help others with this.
If you downloaded ME3 with the Origin client, and you are getting the same error try this.
Exit ME3
Goto Origin and click the settings icon
Click Go Offline
Then click Go Online in the right window
Start ME3
Then see if you can get in through the server.
I think they have somehow linked network settings or user authentication through origin client and that is messing things up. I ran a ping at the same time to the ME3 server and it was up the whole time, when the game client was saying it coudn't find the ME3 server.

Can't connect to the stupid ME3 server so can't verify my DLC, so can't play the game.
Please EA/Bioware remove the necessity of the absolutely poor Origins to run a game.
