Im not so sure. They walked out of the ship all smiles. If they wanted it to seem like the crew were doomed wouldn't they have been... sad or something? I would like to see maybe an addition to the last scene, in which an alliance ship comes to pick them up? Or maybe they find out Shep's fate? ....Its certainly missing something

It was a bit... Surreal. They couldn't have known the reapers were dead or they'd have been far too late to avoid the colorful explosion that saved the galaxy.

Joker's mind:
"Oh god, I think I broke every bone in my body after such a horrific crash. Nope, I'm completely fine. Weird. Maybe I'll just take these two with me outside, since shepard does that. Oh jeeze, Shepard. I almost forgot. I hope my best friend ever is okay. I hope he stopped those reapers... Maybe we shouldn't have tried to run away like th-- Wow, nice forest. What was I just thinking about?"

Thats why i mentioned that they oculd have gotten picked up by someone. Why would they be so damn happy walking off the ship if they were doomed to starvation and inbreeding?

I took it as everyone died tbh. The world they landed on was very Edenic, could symbolically  represent some kind of afterlife.

But with the synthetic life ending, they've got the weird skin too. No dice.

They could have also landed on a colony world as well.

I still don't understand why the Normandy was using the Sol mass relay in the first place. I'm happy I get to see Tali (my LI and squadmate) survive... but I'd like to know the logic behind picking everyone up on Earth and leaving the system altogether when the fight is not over? My crew abandoned everyone? Not cool...

However, out of the three endings, I think the "Synthesis" one was the most "satisfying". Since I was expecting Bioware would kill Shepard anyway, and that galactic civilization was apparently doomed** whatever I did, creating the new stage of evolution seemed like the best course of action. Because of this, Joker and EDI together at the end can bring some hope for the future of the galaxy.

** When I say doomed, I mean that the Mass Effect universe we learned to love was completely obliterated by the ending of the game. Yes, Earth is saved (in my case) and the reapers are gone, but everyone is isolated again.
