Hi guys,

I have been having Origin issues for a few months, and it was highlighted recently when trying to install the ME3 demo. I have that damn "must be logged in as administrator" issue, and nothing I do seems to fix it. I eventually got the demo installed by creating and editing some registry keys, a "fix" which I found online somewhere.

So, now comes ME3 release, and a new update to Origin. I was hoping the issues were fixed, however I ran into the problem when first running the update to Origin, where it got to 100% downloaded, attempted to install and threw the administrator error at me again. I then uninstalled Origin, and downloaded the installer for the new version and installed that. SO, going straight into the ME3 installation luckily Origin started installing the game from the discs (as I hear there is an issue with that too, but one I did not experience) and then when the installation got onto 99%, it stayed like this for a few hours, doing nothing. I forced Origin to exit, and it says under Mass Effect 3 "Ready to Install". When selecting that option, I get the message "must be logged in as an administrator" again. UGH!

I have installed Origin with the compatibility option set, as suggested somewhere online on EA's forums but the issue seems to be persisting. So, day one into Mass Effect 3 release (im in the UK) and I haven't managed to play the game at all, as Origin won't even install the thing! I have checked the folder for ME3 under Origin Games/Mass Effect 3 and it weighs in just under 10gb, so i'm thinking maybe a couple of files are still to be installed as it was stuck on 99%. Still, i'll happily install again if I could get past the "must be logged in as an administrator" issue.

I am running Windows Vista 64-bit, the latest version of Origin (whatever version the March 2012 update was) and disabled my antivirus and firewall etc to be sure. UAC is also turned off.
