How is this possible?  In my first run through, I only got about 4700, but because I didn't play multiplayer or any of the other things my readiness bar was at 50%, so...I only got it to 2350.  How the heck is it even possible to get to 10000 points without doing any of the readiness bar?  Those search and rescue things aren't worth it, but I'll do them if necessary.  Any tips?

Edit: I mean besides telling me to play multiplayer or get the iOS games, I don't have gold membership on my Xbox and I don't have a smart phone.

Multiplayer adds to your Solo Campaign assets.  (Where are people getting that it divides your Military strenght?)

I don't think you can get much higher than 6000 (maybe closer to 7000) in single player only.

I had 7200 at 100% readiness. There are a few side quests for scanning that get lost if you complete Tuchanka too soon. Even those would have only netted me an extra 100 I'd venture to say. I think you can only get 10 000 by playing MP a ton and leveling your characters up to 20 then promoting them. Doing this earns you 100 war asset points. However, there is no difference in ending at all past 5000 effective military strength.

That sucks, I thought Bioware said there was a way to get the "best" possible endings without playing multiplayer or the iOS games.

This is true.  You only need 5000 points to view the "Best" ending.  But really, don't hold your breath.

It was sadly a lie to get people who saw the leaks not to lose faith in a better ending.

Okay then, there's no real point in my second run through. Great.

Remember that every multiplayer character you promote adds to your war assets.

So if you, you know, promote like 100 or so multiplayer characters over 100s of hours of gameplay I guess you could hit 10k >_>

Honestly, though? Given the fact they give us that pre-final-mission-save after finishing, i'd bet dollars to donuts that we're gonna see all sorts of DLC that will also have effects on your war assets.

I.E- There isn't, Bioware punished you for not playing multiplayer. What company do you think your dealing with here, Bethesda?

It sucks that people cant get a good ending because the dint like the mutiplayer =[

glad i loved it lol. had my readyness in 100% way before i stoped playing.

Hell i even beat 2 gold games....... played the hell out of it in a demo and only got to wave 10. It felt good. Even if the ending makes me unable to play the singleplayer, me and my friends are still going to play the mutiplayer...... cause its fun =0

Yes, but with my readiness bar at 50%, it halves this, so I would need at least 10000 to get the 5000 ending.

the only way to get your readiness up is to play multiplayer, so sorry that your single player gets boned because you cant play MP

MULTIMPLAYER DOES NOT DIVIDE YOUR ASSETS!  Why do people think that the galactic readiness level divides your assets?!

Edit: OK, I see why people think it's diving your assets.  When you look at your score, read it from the bottom up, not from the top to the bottom.  Your combined total is at the top, not the bottom.

>implying effective military strength maters at all when the endings are terrible.

Just play the game...have fun...do everything you want to do...after the crucible docks with the "Catalyst" (Not sure why i'm spoilering this out in a spoilered sub forum) just close the game and imagine the ending how ever you want it to be

mine involves shep sitting on a porch out in the middle of no where up on some moutain with about a half dozen little blue children running all over the place and she's napping, the kids are playing with the medals they gave shep and liara is sitting inside infront of a wall of computers screens.

I just tried the destroy Reapers ending.  If what you're saying is right, I had a total of 4000 points, I saw no scene in which I saw my Shepard's armor, in other words, she didn't survive.  That's why people think the readiness bar divides the assets, and it's true.  It does effect what ending you get.

You need a total of 5000+ to get the "secret" ending of Shepard gasping for breath.  I beat the game with a total of 6300 Total and got both "Secret" endings.

I really don't mean to argue with you, I just don't understand.  Shouldn't have I also gotten the "combine non-organics and organics" choice as well?  I didn't, just either to destroy or control the Reapers.

On my first playthrough I went into the trip to Earth with 3059 EMS (so 6118 readiness as not done any MP)

This was on a Shep who didn't birth Grunt, didn't recruit Wrex, Tali or Samara and didn't do Legion's loyalty mission and chose to have Ashley on the Normandy rather than with Hackett so I know I lost out on some points due to these decisions and in process didn't get the 'Master and Commander' achievement for deliving most of the war assets to the final battle (even thogh I did pretty much everything else that I can think of),

It has been said that it is doable in SP without MP, but you've really got to work at it to get it, or more to the point make specific choices to get the optimal readiness/EMS.

Whilst some numbers might seem tiny, the thing to remember is that every little helps and as the saying goes "if you look after the pennies the pounds will look after themselves"

Edit: @Aren you had EMS at 4000 or Galactic Readiness?

I ask because as mentioned above, I had my EMS at 3059 and I was able to pick all 3 choices

The only way that would happen is if you chose the destroy reapers ending, the other two don't have it.

On that I am not sure about. All I know for a fact is that you do not need to play MultiPlayer in order to get the necessary points required.

I played a full paragon with a total of 6300ish points, Saved Anderson and convinced TIM to suicide. I don't know if that makes a difference, but all three options were open to me.

Edit:  Maybe this is where the Rep points come in?
