COME ON
This is the Finale go all out insane

heck... a four way free for all Between The Guardian taking the form of Saren, Harbinger in a Suped up Collector Body, Kai Leng -whose not quite dead still XD- and Shepard

NOW that would make up for any weak ending

This. I had to manage my squad very carefully with so many boss-level enemies flooding the battlefield. It was much more challenging than the baby reaper fight at the end of ME2, or Saren at the end of ME1.

Well it's ME3, the final boss was pretty much the Reapers invasion in itself, and the protagonists were the organics along with Shepard. I know you mean a single boss at some point, well there's that bastard Leng if anything. In ME1 Saren was perfect as a main antagonist of course. In ME2... well, the "main enemy" was the Collectors as a whole, and the Human-Reaper hybrid was... well, it was a boss on paper, technically speaking, but it was just disappointing, still a boss though can't deny it, just not on scale with Saren's awesomeness. In ME3, what boss could we get as a single person really? The Illusive Man turning Saren-style possessed by Harbinger (as much as Sovereign did for Saren) and having to confront him in actual combat? I guess...? But that would have been an obvious repetition of ME1's Saren fight, people would have complained about that for sure. If not then what, how exactly could we confront Harbinger himself? An actual Reaper ship landing in front of Shepard and Shepard kicking its legs?

I'll be honest though, the finale consisting of a... dialogue fight basically and having no single antagonist to confront in combat à-la Saren (at the very least) is disappointing. But ironically, since it's ME3 to start with and it's supposed to be due time for the Reapers to be there in full force... I don't think that having a final showdown with "a boss" would have been appropriate, even if "fun" by principle.

I think arming the missile to take out that one Reaper was as close to a boss battle as we were gonna get.

Harbinger made up for being annoying in ME2 by keeping his yap shut in ME3 and eating our faces with his laser.

The boss is manifesting in your stomach. Do not mistake it for the anger and sorrow from the ending, it's something growing inside of you. In 15 days you will throw it up and fight to the death with toothpicks.

Ehh, to me a Final Boss is generally the most personal battle in the game

and Harbinger who has dogged you for enitre game, Who is seemingly obsessed with either killing you or claiming you for the reapers

... Doesn't get to assume direct control once

BOO
BOO
I SAY!

There was a final boss, it was Harbinger and you lost. See, it's cool and fresh because you didn't expect that. Or something.

If you got the Deluxe Edition and checked out the artwork book, they actually show you TIM as a giant Reaperised Husk that you could have fought, but then they decided to scrap the idea and opted to have you fight with your wits instead.

Kinda bulls**t in my opinion. I would have preferred to have shot the bastard to be honest.

I handled the brutes ok, but then they through the banshees and Reaper laser in. I ended up using my maxed out adrenaline rush to legit straight for the control panel.

Fighting with our wits would have been great if we had a good dialogue system. As it is, "pick the blue or red option, either is fine" is kind of ass for a battle of wits.

you call that a boss.. .that was just MEH...

one Show down with a Kei Leng/Harbinger   just like Saren/Sovereign would have been  epic.

Yea i think a boss battle would have been good aswell, maybe fighting inside harbinger or something finding out that TIM is his core lol. "look guys i have assumed direct control!" then boss battle, then fire the cannon. Unless the theories of the "ending" being in shepards head about his will to keep fighting or something are correct and we have to pay to play the final chapter meh i dunno.

You can still shoot him, as long as you don't paragon your way through the whole conversation.

Arming that missile with Banshees and Brutes coming from everywhere I think filled the slot for Final Boss pretty nicely there. I don't think I panicked so much trying to avoid those creepy Asari Reapers, especially when you've got two chasing you all over the field

Arming the missiles.. Well it was easy. Ok I restarted twice but it was still easy. Kai Leng was harder. There I tried about 15 times because he instant killed me a lot in close combat.

I thought I could kill Harbinger as he came down :/

When Harbinger came down i thought hell yes now time for the bossfight and then this bull**** happened. I never even talked it dispite it beeing the big evil from ME2 . Instead they introduce us to that bull**** Catalyst that i instantly wanted to punch as soon as i saw it , and when that abomination started to talk i wanted a Paragorn/Renegade interupt to tell it how wrong it is and how he can go **** himself or an epic speech to convince him of the flaws of his thinking. Something that well allows me to not having to chose from the 3 stupid endings.

I've been saying, the Citadel should have been made into one giant turret sequence. Shepard gets to look out that window and play shoot down the Reapers till the final boss Reaper comes (Harbinger). It could have been epic.
