I've been having the exact same issue with the Priority: Horizon mission. Tried the methods mentioned here but none of it worked for me.

Update: Finally passed the area after sending companions forward first, walking slowly while spamming the Quick Save. After crash, was able to load the game in next area. Thank you for all the tips!
