Just had it unlocked and dont see any threads about it.
The strength of the class is probably maxing training for weapon damage, maxing fitness for survival, and maxing marksman for fire rate and hs damage bonuses.
What I am having trouble with is the concussive shot and mine. Seems pointless to go for CS (since my future build would be using an AR that has a chance to stagger) and the mine is sketchy from what I remember from salarian from the demo. But the +20% damage from all sources is tempting.
Any thoughts?

Thought is - Turian soldier is one of my favorite classes, on par with Asari Adept. And I have a build similar to what you described, here's what I have:

1) Maxed out passive for weapon damage and stability.
2) Maxed fitness for survival.
3) Maxed out Marksman for duration, headshot damage, and firerate accuracy.
4) Maxed proximity mine for bonus damage and +20% damage from all sources.

Now I believe that CS is completely useless, because using marksman is a lot more effective. I always spam Marksman, and use the mine on big targets once, so that all future shots do more damage.

I play with carnifex, which has drastic ammo problems, but is a very strong weapon, and with marksman tosses out huge DPS, due to fast firing rate and over the top stability, that allows for very easy headshots. I have damage and ammo mods installed on my carnifex. And when I go gold I always use armor-piercing ammo, so I can shoot enemies through light cover, do bonus damage to armored targets, and can shoot guardians and brutes through their defense, also use power efficiency for faster marksman spam, and pistol rail.

Win gold on daily basis, get the top score on daily basis.

And trying out a few rounds, ya not much point going CS.

I tried this build but I feel like I wasted points in the headshot talents b/c I'm terrible at it.

Interesting feedback on this. Regarding the headshots, Cazlee, you will get some good opportunities if teammates use stasis/cryo/overload to slow down the enemy. Having zoom on the pistol also helps.

I'll give the mentioned build a try when I get to level the turian soldier I unlocked.

Necroing another thread... Feels necromansish. But, i got things to say.

Anyways. I played turian soldier to 20 twice. Lots of silver games, but no gold. Thing is, i found there is one very special weapon for this class: names Revenant. Main weapon's problem - which is that it kicks like a mule... like a mule on steroids, even, - is nearly or completely negated (depends on evolutions) by Turian soldier's class skills. It becomes insane DPS machine. Even without piercing mod (which probably would be good on Revenant as its per-bullet damage is not very high), turian soldier can reduce silver Banshee's armor from full to zero, all by himself, by a single long volley of Revenant's extended clip at close to medium range (and firing at her at point-blank range while going backwards, without using cover, works just alright). Silver brutes and ravagers are short work, geth primes feels like oversized pyros in terms of how fast they go down...

And i played on silver without using ammo, weapon and armor 1-mission upgrades.

So i guess, with proper upgrades and playstyle, turian soldier + revenant is very viable combination for gold mode (especially higher grades of the weapon for even more extra damage and less weight - both are actual issues).

P.S. And it's extremely fun too, in a way. Carnifex may be good and all, but it certainly doesn't feel like sprayin' and prayin' with some big loud machinegun. ^^

P.P.S. Another good thing about Revenant is that it is not a headshot weapon. So many other viable weapons are exactly that - widows, mattock, carnifex, graal and many others. I mean, you gotta do headshots if you want to be good with them. But revenant is different - just aim to the torso and see them down in no time. Nice for a change, if nothing else. :)
