I was supposed to feel uplifted after ME3.
like I accomplished something worthwhile.
instead I'm just hollow.
Ending hurt.

Good. Endings can hurt, and they can have ambiguity, and they can make you feel. But if it makes you feel, then it did it's job. That's what art does.
Yeah, it'd be ok if it was a bittersweet ending, hell it'd be fine if there was no way Shepard could live in order to protect the galaxy.
So whats not bittersweet about it?
Assuming you get the best possible ending -> Shepard lives, Anderson lives, Earth saved, crew saved, galaxy saved
Bitter -> Mass Relays destroyed, crew stranded
Now we don't know where exactly the crew is stranded. The ship (logically) must have jumped from the Charon Relay, they could easily be within very close FTL range, since we don't really know where they dropped out.
The Charon Relay at Sol leads to Arcturus and three other relays (according to the Wiki) and Arcturus is only 36 light years away. Now (according to the Wiki as well) you can do 12 light years in one day by FTL, so Arcturus could actually be reached pretty fast and the Normandy as well if it is somewhere in between.
Though i agree i don't like the Normandy thing as it stands, it's not explained enough.

I don't mind the fact that Shepard died. The endings given and the epilogue were awful. The choices were awful....I still don't get why there had to be forceful merging? Why couldn't synthetics and organics co-exist? That is the part that makes no sense especially considering legion and Edi....so angry...
I also think an ending where various character/s gave their lives to save Shepard would have been acceptable as well--Garrus, Tali, Liara all would have dove in front of a bullet for Shepard.
You can't beat an un-winnable game.....It's like tic tac toe on a galactic scale.

If they had just ended it with Shep and Anderson after dealing with TIM, looking down on earth, it would've worked. They hooked up the Crucible, mission accomplished. Roll credits then just show some cutscenes of the aftermath, people rebuilding, all based on the choices you made over the past 3 games.
The 3 false choices at the end, stripped from any real meaning or choice in whether Shep lives or dies felt like a slap in the face. It kills me, they were SO CLOSE.

I have spent countless hours in the Mass Effect universe, and not just the games, and the ending of Mass Effect 3 destroyed all interest I have in ever getting involved in this universe again...
