First, it's best to see this first in the last bold title:

From source: "You owe it to us. We worked hard to get here. Don't send us away with a
30-second cutscene of the hero riding into the distance on a jet ski
before the credits roll. Whatever happened to the Final Fantasy VI
endings? You know, the one that was 20 minutes long and wrapped up the
stories of every single character even briefly glimpsed in the game? It's cool-ass endings that make us want to keep playing. Instead, we get games that graduated from the Metroid school of single-frame congratulatory text."
I've been thinking of other games where this type of catatrophe happened. Fallout 3 seems to be the closest in terms of the concept. Fallout 3 and Mass Effect 3 minus the ending and DLC are still very good games. However, the ending messed both games up. This is the Fallout version of what is happening now with a link supplied for convienience:

Bethsheda announces a Fallout 3 dlc (broken steel) sometime later which fixes the ending to make it satisfying for the player. Link of an article of its announcement:

Now...can this be the same for Mass Effect 3?
Ending content to review. (Could be worth a look Bioware)
