Just a suggestion, I think it would be more important to fix the NPC's in the game as they have horrible textures. I can't explain how much blood came out of my eyes while talking to this guy,
That is the suit of Udina, but in a different color. The MOD for Udina replaces it, I know it was not very good, but at that time, I found it difficult to improve.
I'll check and see if I can improve it a little more.
offtopic: Someone help me sort the phrase: "sampmres lkie fiihsng ralrugley"

BioWare, please, for God's sake - release Huge Hi-Res textures pack for PC version. It's not really enjoyable to play PC version of game with ugly consoles graphics and animations...
At this point they just need to open up the texture areas of the game so we can drop in replacement textures. This way we can have the choice to use our own, adjust texture sizes, etc.

I know we're not allowed to talk about it here but a petition maybe might convince them.Dead_Meat357 wrote...

The PC gaming community is the one developers care the least about. We used to be at the forefront of technology and innovation in game design, but no longer. Now all we get is console ports where the PC is an afterthought at best.
It's not even that the ports have to be bad like this. They could be better.

Thing is they could just release a high res texture pack for pc. Many games do that now, hell they did it with DA2. Crytek did it with crysis 2 etc. Release it as an additional download.
Btw Dead i wanted to ask any update? I hope you release it before leviathan comes around.

It can import the dds textures in the pcc files in BIOGame\\CookedPCConsole.
Then the textures can be loaded fast without textmod. I've tried the tutorial with the Liara armor and it works.
We could potentially make a texture pack that way with all the modified pcc files?

I too have used ME3 Explorer. Following the steps, I was able to load Smarteck's Liara retex. Chances are if someone were to go through and patch in every mod released so far and then upload their fixed .pcc files, we could all download and enjoy without Texmod. One thing I haven't figured out, though, is how to replace textures for meshes installed as DLC. For example, what is the file path for the multiplayer krogan vanguard? Please let me know if you find anything.
Thanks all, and best of luck as you texture.

This is an interesting update. I can also confirm that this works on Liara in certain circumstances. However, to those people who got it working, is it always working for you or is it only in battle conditions? Because when I load up Mars, she has the modded outfit, whereas on the Normandy she doesn't. I assume that they're stored differently in the game files or something and I haven't replaced that one.
I also managed to get this technique to work on my Scorpion mod. I've updated the project page to include this new .pcc file. If someone can test it out on their system that would be good. You should just be able to extract the file and then drop it into your CookedPCConsole folder (once you've backed up the original file).
As the article mentions you will have to mod your Coalesced.bin file to get this to work properly.
I am having trouble adding the norm map using this method. All the other maps are added using .dds files, whereas the norm is added with a .tga. And when I added the corresponding norm map in a .tga it ended up in the game looking really bizarre.
EDIT: From some experimentation, it seems you might not be able to just drag and drop ".pcc"s. It looks like the process that takes place here adds some stuff into CharTextures.tfc and you'd have to somehow update that manually if you dragged and dropped ".pcc"s.

You're right, there is duplicates in BioH_Liara_00_NC.pcc (I think is is the Normandy one) & BioH_Liara_00_Explore.pcc.

Pistols: Carnifex, Predator, Phalanx
Assault: Avenger, Vindicator, Revenant, Mattock, Geth Pulse, Collector Assault (don't think this one has been done, but who cares),.
Snipers: Incisor, Mantis, Viper, Widow
Shotguns: Eviscerator, Katana, Scimitar, Claymore, Geth Plasma Shotgun
SMG: Shuriken, Tempest, Locust
Occurred to me when I was using the Geth Plasma Shotgun and it looked like crap. If this works and is applicable, great, if not, no big deal. Just came to mind - haven't notice anything other than Aria and the quarians, which apparently would be different in coloring.,

Hey Smarteck - you asked before to point out if anything else could be easily ported to ME2. Thinking about it, all the non-heavy weapon guns in ME2 are in ME3, right? And there aren't that many of them:

If it's not too much more to ask, when/if you do release the guns, could you also release a full pack collection? I'm approaching the point in ME2 texmods where it'll autocrash if I run too many more individual files.

It seems cool but it seems like a lot of work for a single texture. My ass is too lazy for that
It's a long process, especially as there are lots of duplicates. I've started replacing the character armor texures. So far I think I have done:
Liara
Javik
Grunt
EDI
Miranda
Mordin
Samara
Legion

The files needs to replace the files in BIOGame\\CookedPCConsole (make a backup of the originals first).

The 1.5 version of the Defender armor is the newest one I've done. The female Defender armor is physically very different texture wise. The Defender armor was very difficult to do, and I haven't bothered to do a FemShep version because of the complexity of the texture. I'd love to do one eventually, but other things have taken priority for me.
Right now I'm working on a recolor fo the Collector Armor and a high resolution Terminus Armor.

I've seen this before. There are a lot of problems with it though. Mainly there is no way to easily preview the textures you are replacing to know for certain you are doing the right ones and finding some of the textures has proven next to impossible. I tried searching for the Defender Armor for about an hour and a half and couldn't find the textures to replace.
Also, do the math. There are about 90 mods and counting. Each should contain 3 textures, some contain more and many just have 2. If we take three as an average, you'd need to do a texture replacement around 300 times. Using that interface and that long process, that's a nightmare and then some.

They have a texture preview now, but like you say it is still a really long process.
