Normal maps have to be ripped in the .DDS format. I've had no trouble pulling normal maps from Mass Effect 2. That's how I know how much larger they are than those used in ME3. And your right about the Cerberus Assault armor. It's pretty damned ugly. I do like the Helmet better than the Helmet used on the inferno armor. I've never liked the fish bowl it's got.

You know what's weird is that I used to have no problem with it, but recently I've noticed it's stopped ripping them.

I'm doing it in the .DDS format, I've no idea why it's not working.

EDIT: The Terminus Armor always looked like a Halo knockoff to me. The faceplates of both look...very unpleasing in game.

EDIT: Found http://talizorah.org...pic=3664.0]this[/url] googling for something else. I wonder if the Kestral armor is the same map in 3 - I know they tweaked the color. Probably not, but I'll check later anyway.

The Terminus Armor doesn't look like anything I've ever seen in Halo, but then again I am not a huge fan of Halo. (I don't play games on consoles very often.)

@Dead Meat: You might be able to use that Jean-Luc kestral armor as a base for something in the future (I know you're not working on it now), it...kind of looks good, but there's differences in shading and stuff in ME3's maps involving lighting that makes it look not so good. It is a 1:1 for the shading and...well, if you look at it later when you get to that, you can see.

Posted Image

This is just the diffuse - if you have the lightning from Jean-Luc, it basically turns it washed out grey.

Also, maybe you'll see the Halo here <_<

Great work on the collectors, guys; that's how technorganic textures should look. You did lose a fair bit of the gloss though if you ever decide to revamp them.

That's all in the normal map. The gloss of the normal map actually obscures some of the details of the armor. Frankly I always thought they were too glossy. They looked wet and slimey, which never made sense to me. And we can crank up the gloss on them, but I actually tried that and didn't like the results.

We were talking about two different armors. And yeah, I thought about modifying Jean-Luc's Kestral Armor for use in ME3. I knew it would need a new diffiuse layer and normal map. Not a problem by any means, but something to consider. I haven't pulled the stock texture or looked at his closely either.

I know that they changed a lot about the coloring in ME3. I tried and tried but I never could make it look the same way I had it in ME2 in ME3. It would have been cool to carry my Shepard's armor etc. all the way through both games but I never could stand the way that armor looked in ME3.

I'd like to download these but I don't want to spoil the game for myself. (I've already spoiled part of it by seeing that EDI now has a body  )
Would have been great if the textures were just one big pack. As it stands, I won't be using them even tho I want to lol

Nice work anyway :)

PS. Yep, I'm only now just playing through ME3 for the first time :D (despite having bought it ages ago - decided to run through ME1 & 2 again)

You can't do them as one pack. There are too many different texture modders doing work here and even if we did create one pack, no system could run it. Texmod's limitations would prevent it. It has a limit to how many it can handle at once. I've run into issues integrating more than 256 individual textures into one pack. It could do 256 but not 258. It can only handle around 1GB of texture mods simultaneously. This is regardless of system configuration.

So while I understand where you are coming from, we just can't do it that way.

Jean-Luc made beautiful updates to the ME2 textures. What's not so clear in his posts is that he also did the loyalty outfits for every character.

These are all the loyalty outfits that would port into ME3 - Jack and Garrus don't port over because the maps and models are different.

I have not actually got to a lot of these characters in my game and don't have good saves, so I'll actually update this with more screenshots from ME3 in game when I, y'know, actually play this game. :V If you use one of these and have a problem, let me know and I'll try to fix it right away.

But this is all, 100%, totally Jean-Luc's awesome work. Except where it has a mistake in porting. There? It's me. >_>

There are of course more files than what is in the screenshot, but that's just to give you an idea of what'll look like in game until I, uh, get there in game. >_> Thanks again to Jean-Luc for making so much cool stuff.

Mordin's skins came up twice because the default Smarteck used is actually the alternate option. I was going to use Jean-Luc's as a base but his appears to be down at the moment.

Jean-Luc also did Miranda's 3rd appearance from the DLC, but that isn't portable. Thane's default is also listed because I don't ever see that listed anywhere, and hey, why not.

I might do this later, but I would want to put credit for each individual entry and links to the original post instead of just uploading a ton of files. To do otherwise probably would be rude.

It would also be giantic and split into four folders and be out of date very quickly. :V

Ok. Perhaps not one pack, but maybe modular packs, such as:

Evironmental Pack (Skies, Consoles etc.)
VIP Pack (Squad mates, Key actors)
NPC Pack
Weapons Pack
etc.

Something along those lines. Anway, just an idea...

@LordBandu: There _is_ a pack like that for environments - look up in the OP.

As for weapons, I tend to only use the ones I'm currently using to save resource usage. If you want a low resource general pack, there is this: http://social.biowar...m/project/8147/

@Dead Meat: Not sure why I used "Terminus" when I meant Inferno. Or why I thought the Kestral armor was an unknown thing from a 2010 thread - it's in the other one from today. >_>

EDIT: Also, LordBandu, the problem with doing a pack system like that is that you'd be running a ton of redundant environments and NPCs who no longer appear and then you're pushing the limits of what can actually be run.

There IS an extremely outdated pack of stuff awhile back, but I don't remember where it is in the thread and you might see tons and tons of spoilers looking for it.

You can download the files from Skydrive, there are no spoilers. Do click with the right mouse button over the folders and select "download" (use your hotmail account for that).

Yea, you're right about running redundant files etc. I guess I'll just Ctrl+F on the OP for things to update as I come across them ingame. Considering I spent like 60 hours on ME2, it's not as if it's a big deal that the first time I meet Squadmate X his armour is crappy looking

...or I WOULD if Texmod didn't crush my performance!! . For example, without Texmod running I get 60+fps stood near the Galaxy map but with Texmod running I get around 18fps :o.
The strange thing is that it doesn't matter what textures I have loaded - it could just be the HQ Citadel Sky, the performance is the same. There must be a problem or conflict (on my system at least) with the actual Texmod program itself (again, at least for me)

There is a slight hit from running texture mods but nothing on that level. Give us a run down of your system and settings.

@Dead Meat: Your Spectre pack link is dead - which is fine, since all of the guns except the paladin are there. And I was just being lazy and didn't want to rummage through a folder to find my copy of that download. (Already found what I wanted.)

No sir. There are three guns in that pack. Black Widow, M-11 Wraith and the M-77 Paladin. But I'll check the link.

EDIT: Checked the link and it wasn't working. Not sure why. Anyway I've fixed it.

If you've got version 1.0 you'll want v1.1. It resolves certain issues with the normal maps which could cause a glowing effect under certain circumstances. Mainly with the M-11 Wraith and the M-77 Paladin. I'm not 100% happy with the Paladin, but I am happy with the Wraith and the Widow.

Oh yeah, I do have the old one. I tend to only use four guns in SP and MP: Geth Plasma Shotgun, Carnifex, Paladin and the Hurricane, so I should use the updated one.

Any chance you guys would do 2048 versions of your mods for those of us who don't have quite enough horsepower to use the 4096 resolution of your mods? At least it would be a step up from the 1024 default textures.

I haven't updated the standalone M-77 Paladin. The latest one only comes in the Spectre pack. Though you could easily pull it out of there.
