So, I'm looking at these skin textures in PS, and I'm thinking that I really don't have the ability to touch up these patterns without it looking like crap.

I'm half considering doing something like a 'clean hands' version, but I'm afraid that might look too artificial.

Any suggestions for just sprucing up the resolution of the base diffuse map? Beyond the image resize. That really doesn't do anything..

using CS6 extended.

Upgrading the resolution of the diffuse map will do nothing for you. And you'll hit the wall quickly without making a new one but even then it won't do much for you without a new texture to go with it. Improving the normal map will help a bit however.

I've also done the clean hands version of some of the casual outfits. It doesn't look great but ends up looking better. You have to be careful though. If taken too far it will look worse.

With the clean hands - Conrad Verner, for example, still has hideous hands - it may not look amazing but the hands are often on screen for 3 seconds. Long enough to notice and be disgusting to see, not long enough to notice minute detail.

@Vario: I like your Executioner Pistol. Your Harrier has a problem though - it's too obvious that it's a pattern, you can see this like square block of camo over it. You may want to try a larger texture or play around to try and make it less obvious.

EDIT: Wonder how much of these MP hazards are rippable/movable to SP. Many are cooler than the original game.

Thanks for the input! I saw that too. Problem is that I use Gimp 2 and the patterns in there are mostly that small.
I'll keep trying though.

I saw a screenshot today about sheploo. he wears only leg armors in the pic. completely *shirtless*. I get it that not all people like to run around in underwear. but this shirtless shepard makes the game a bit like those arnold / stallone action movies.

I don't know how it is modded. the underwear as armor is a whole set as far as I know.

however, I think, because of a shirtless shepard with leg armors only, it becomes a bit important to make HQ textures of shepard's skin.

That's actually easy to do. Simply add the underwear Shepard as a torso armor in the coalsced.bin. You will need to add blank pieces to block out some of the other armor sections. Use the underwear torso armor and combine it with whatever pieces you want. You could add arm armor, just the shoulders, or use the chest alone and leave the arms bare. However you want to do it.

What would be funny is adding the recon hood to him. Go full on GimpShep. Posted Image

Action hero, eh?

Should add some blood stains and a hole over the kneecap. Make him look like he's right out of Die Hard. <_<

lol thank you for the info. however, last time I tried to add ME1 armor in ME2 the whole wardrobe messed up.

let's hope it won't happen in me3. can't test it now though^^

For the most part Leviathan doesn't add any new textures to the game. There is the terrible texture for the diving mech and a couple other things but most everything is really already covered. There are two weapons added, the AT-12 Raider and M-55 Argus. This is assuming you didn't already have them as preorder bonuses. I did an M-55 Argus already but it's one of my older mods. I'll probably revisit it in the near future as I have many of the other ones I've done. But I'm in the middle of some other mods right now. Someone else did an AT-12 Raider I think but I haven't seen it for myself.

For the textures that aren't covered in the ZonaC materials, I could do them fairly easily but it's a matter of time. You see them rarely and most of them are bad so it's been a matter of prioritization. They'd be relatively easy excluding the Titan diving mech. It's the same thing as the Atlas but colored differently. Anyone who ever pulled the textures for the Atlas will tell you that it is a huge pain in the ass to work with.

But again time is the main thing required to do these things. And we'll get there eventually.

Speaking of Leviathian, I still haven't played it. I also don't use that master Zona C file - I break it down into each parts. IIRC, all you need for that is Noveria materials, right?

I'll keep trying though.

In Photoshop you can define your own patterns for personal use. You can probably do the same in GIMP.

You can find free patterns just using google. For example, I just searched camo pattern and found this: http://blog.spoongra...rator-photoshop

(Why are URL tags so damn buggy on this forum?)

Is there any way to DL all textures with single torrent file?

Not currently, no.

You can't run all the textures at once and it would probably be out of date very quickly.

The Marpat pattern I used for the BF3 single player armors and the "Desert Defender" armor is actually a Marpat pattern texture which is 4096x4096 pixels which I combined with a metal texture. Sometimes you have to get creative and if you can't find a texture asset you want to use in your work, you may have to create your own. I've done it more times than I can count at this point. The carbon fiber, etc. are all things I had to make myself. No stock pattern I found was what I wanted. You also have to develop things you want to use that are the right size for scaling purposes on these textures.

Go here:

https://skydrive.liv...096D995629D!418

Click the right mouse button over the folders, and select Download (if you are prompted to log in, use your hotmail account).

When using the files, pay attention to not load unnecessary or duplicate files.

Saludos ;)

Attention 3D Vision Gamers :

The user eqzitara has created a temporary fix for the problem of the MP Firebase White (biohazard) and their fog. You only need to paste and replace these 2 files in your current version of Helix Patch.

> Download: www.mediafire.com/

And stay tuned to the website of Helix, is very likely that his Fix for ME3 will be updated soon (for that reason this fix in temporary).

Thanks eqzitara;)

Origin updates have seemed to kill Texmod for me permanently, and I'm pretty tired of the lag between launching and actually playing the game, so I am here to inquire once more about the state of ME3Explorer as an alternative to Texmod.

A few weeks ago an update was released that allowed the textures to be viewed through the program itself, so it should be possible to actually find the files that need to be replaced. However, I remember seeing a post that complained of frame-rate drops during scenes using the replaced textures.

So my question is this: has anyone successfully used ME3Explorer to completely replace Texmod for both single and multiplayer textures, or is the program still too incomplete to allow for that?

Thanks a bunch for any input.

just disable "origin in game" and delete a certain DLL file in the Origin folder, and Texmod should work fine.
