And just in case, is something I definitely will end and I will share, I do not usually leave the things I've started.

Hey guys, I have finished the proof of concept texture replacement test. As I said before I can't patch the files yet so it's a 500MB download if you want to test it out. I've tried it out on another persons computer and it worked like a charm so hopefully it works for everyone that easily. The included mods are primarily smarteck's N7 armour for male and female Shepard.
Download Location:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
(Split into 3 parts because of MediaFire's 200MB limit)
Instructions:
Once you've downloaded the 3 files and they're in the same directory then open up the first file and you should be able to extract all the required files. Once you've done that there's a readme pdf that should explain everything. Please read it. If you start up Origin and it says it's updating then cancel it (see below).
Let me know how it goes. If you do have problems then send me a private message rather than cluttering up this thread. Enjoy!

I think Origin would restore the modded pcc files when the next update comes out, since you have changed SHA1 of many files. But I could be wrong and hopefully origin will not do that.
Unfortunately you are correct, I just tried it then. It seems to want to update it whenever you start up Origin. Presumably there is a file somewhere that contains all the checksums or whatever. In the future I might try and find that and fix the problem. As it is you can just cancel the download or stop automatic updating in the mean time.

So now texmod will not be needed right? All textures can be replaced? This is really good. No more fighting = Origin + Texmod ;-P
Yup. In theory Texmod will not be needed. Though the actual number of textures that can be replaced is up in the air at the moment. Eventually I hope to replace them all. It seems that Origin's throwing up a new problem with the automatic updating. The gift that keeps on giving...

So it's working fine for you? Excellent.
I've just figured out a way to lower the total file size, so I don't have to include the original CharTextures file. Instead I can make a new texture cache. That knocks 400MB off the file size. It does mean that I have to start again, but that's okay. I think I've got my method pretty set now. If anyone knows how Origin stores the file size info then could you figure out a way to spoof the system, to fix the update problem.

It works for me too. If you find a way to get all of the texture mods from this thread into the format you work with... Imagine all the time saved from loading up the game initially.

Looks awesome Dead Meat. I had your old one, and while better than the default, that version is a huge step up.
Thank you.
It's a very hard texture to work with. In fact this may be the hardest to work with out of the squad mate armors I've worked on thus far. The original mods didn't have a very good normal map and there were certain things I didn't do or didn't do as well as I wanted to due to not knowing the tools as well as I do now. And while there are some things I'm not 100% pleased about I'm far happier with this version than the previous ones.
I started this one from scratch but as time went on I went ahead and pulled a couple things from the original mod that I thought worked well and saved a little bit of time. Still most of this one is entirely new.

Hey Dead Meat, I just downloaded your new version of Liara's dlc armor and when I try to use it I am getting an error message and the game will not start. And it is just version 1.3 that is giving me an error. It seems to be causing AVG to think there is something wrong with it. Now I'm doing a scan and haven't found anything but just wondering if something happened when you uploaded it?
Nope. No issues with it that I am aware of.
EDIT:
Scanned the file for viruses and didn't find any. I also used the download link and grabbed a new copy of the file and copied that to my mod folder and ran it. Everything worked fine. I'd switch to Microsoft Security Essentials as it's lightweight and works pretty well. AVG, not so much anymore.

Glad to hear it. I think the next mod I'll redo is the N7 Typhoon. I've started on it and weapons are faster than armors so hopefully later this week.

The Revenant is still a powerful weapon when paired with the right class. If your going to use it in single player I suggest grabbing Ashley's Marksman bonus power. It helps more than Adrenaline Rush does but that works fairly well also. It is the gun I ended up using to do most of my Insanity playthrough. In multiplayer there is no class better suited towards use of the Revenant than the Turian Soldier. If their Turian Veteran and Marksman powers are evolved correctly they are amazingly accurate with it. Stabilizer mods and equipment only enhance this effect further. Yeah the Harrier hits harder but the thermal clip capacity is tiny and forces you to reload often. With the Revenant I rarely have to. If I run and gun in multiplayer a Turian soldier is generally my preference. All Turians are decent with it but the soldier is the best for it.
In contrast the N7 Typhoon has been nerfed too much and the spin up time really kills it. I use it with the N7 Destroyer because it is more accurate than the Revenant is and has a higher thermal clip capacity. With the Destroyer you get damage bonuses thanks to Devastator mode which really help make the weapon work as it should. Using that setup I'm rarely outscored by anyone unless the map requires a lot of running and gunning and has poor long range visibility. In those cases there are better classes available for that type of map.
One thing I don't like about it is the clipping issues it has with the N7 Defender armor in single player. It sits flat on Shepard's back and clips through the armor pretty badly. But given that I use the N7 Destroyer a fair amount I'll be reworking the mod like I did with many of my others recently. Should be the last major update of previous mods I'll have to do for awhile. I do need to make some minor updates to one or two others but nothing I couldn't do quickly if I wanted to. Still need to finish the Kasa Fabrication set. That's coming along great now that I've got the chest piece done. Should match well with the default N7 armor. It matches better with mine than Smartek's due to the carbon fiber pattern matching in my mods. I use the same scale for all things where the pattern is appropriate. After that I'll probably start on something new. I'm not certain what yet, but I want a new project.

You could always start on Mass Effect 4 if you're not too busy? Thanks!
Oh but if I could I would sir. But I'd probably develop it on the PC first and then port it to the consoles. And I'd use an updated engine etc. so it would have to wait until the new consoles came out. Which is fine since that shouldn't be too far away.

Is there something we are lacking in the MP department? I know there are some weapons that need to be done and I'm no doubt going to do some of them in the future.
