No problem.

That behavior only started after when I changed the coalesced setting. I restarted the game to ensure it wasn't just a bug with a loading error - it causes that behavior every time. I _might_ revert the coalesced setting to normal temporarily as I'm mostly playing SP and it would be kind of immersion breaking to see black triangles everywhere. Would that in some way hurt the "appearance" of the mods in a way that running Texmod normally would avoid?

I think I've posted the mod before - it's not a high resolution texture, but I like it. It was made by Zoetropes and you can download it here (check youtube description)

EDIT: Testing, I can keep the dr33dv [sp] change, but the max_character_1024 edit is the one that triggers the brute failure.

Hm...wonder how this alters the game.

Leviathan Pack HD, is now complete (finally). :pinched:

Now I'm placing a rar file to then be able to upload to Mediafire. In view of the large number of textures that needed to be edited, I was obliged to take only the most important, a total of 58 textures, and the file tpf, resulted in 158MB.

My first thought was that it would not be possible to use it in conjunction with all previous Mods, but to my surprise, it is possible, at least in this PC could load all the usual MODs + the new Leviathan  pack, and so far no found problems (RAM consumption is close to 6GB), I hope not exceed 8GB. :P

The most important things look much better than before, there was only a reflection that I could not correct (there is always something), I tried for an hour and nothing worked. <_<

To avoid spoilers, I will not adding Ingame screenshots, will only add a collage of textures included.

When I have already this file in Mediafire, I will share the link.

When I ever hit a RAM consumption of above 3.5 GB, I get an instant crash despite using LAA on 64-bit Windows. You can do 6GB in Texmod?

It's not a problem for me because I just split the assets into certain sections just wondering how this is achieved.

Also Smarteck, thanks very much for all that you do. I'm sure that was a lot of work.

No, I meant in total Windows + Texmod :P

Upload the file took longer than expected, an hour if all goes well, otherwise I will have to retry and it is, my upload speed is only 512KB :crying:...

Ah, haha. Yeah. Makes more sense.

I feel your pain. Mine is 100kb upload and like a 1 MB/s download. -_-

@PKchu: The dr3drv change can just be left on the whole time, it only affects the maximum texture size that the engine will load. The texturegroup_character_1024 is what's called the LODGroup for that particular texture applied to the brute. If you want to temporarily fix the black textures then you can just put that value back to the default 1024. What will happen is that the modded textures that I've added that happen to use that LODGroup (mostly the diffuse maps from memory) will revert back to the 1024px version. Importantly they're still using the modded files just at a lower resolution. So if you look at Liara you should see the edits that smarteck made (i.e. the metallic looking sections and the shine) but it'll be at the stock resolution.

It's only a temporary fix because once I fix the files that contain that error you can go back to using the 4096 px version.

@smarteck: 512KB upload speed??? In Australia I'm stuck with 100KB... the land of terrible internet.

EDIT: Also, it may be some while before I can do anything to do with multiplayer. For whatever reason none of the MP DLCs are working for me. They all just crash my game. And no this has nothing to do with the mod. Even with a full reinstall I'm getting the problem.

EDIT 2: No worries. Fixed my problem.

Huh.

Suppose I'll just wait for the fix before resuming. That sounds like a big graphical loss.

Think I'll noclip around some levels later and try to find things that have errors.

EDIT:

This is honestly a dumb question and I should probably know the answer already but: when Texmod...does its "injection" does it put a 4096x4096 texture in game regardless of what your .ini settings are? Or am I getting a 1024 version of a 4096 map with an unedited .ini there too and have been for a long time?

Essentially I'm confused if the process you're doing creates this problem where you have to tweak the .ini because now it's going through the actual game engine instead of the Texmod overlay, (Yes, I'm aware I've probably hideously butchered the technical details of that.)

EDIT2: I'm confused because the textures look better than their original counterparts and before I hadn't tweaked the .ini's texture max size limits. 1024 vs 1024 should look similar...right?

Texmod upgrades the resolution. From what I understand Texmod loads the textures over the top of the ones from the game so it essentially ignores any limitations with texture size. But once you start using the game engine to load textures (e.g. my mod) then you have to obey the engine's rules.

If you definitely wanted to check the resolution of the mod in-game, I would suggest using the Texmod logging mode to look at each one and rip a copy. That's what I was doing to check them as I was making the mod.

EDIT: Oh and you shouldn't bother looking at the levels for errors. The name of the LODGroup (character_1024) kind of suggests that it's only going to affect characters. So I'd suggest looking at Shep's armours, outfits, and NPCs.

This pack contains a total of 66 textures in 58 files in format dds inside in a single tpf file. Corrects most important textures and those who had a greater pixelation on screen. Includes objects, machinery and characters. I'm finish with back pain, but worth it. :D

"The system cannot find the file specified" means that the batch isn't finding the file to copy across. This means that either the path for the ME3 installation directory is wrong in the code, or you haven't got a copy of texmod in the same place as your ME3 program. First of all make sure that Texmod is there.

If it is then you need to change the batch. So find where ME3 is installed for you. It should be in C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Mass Effect 3\\ (or Program Files if you have a 32bit OS) OR C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\, depending on how you installed the game. The batch will only have one of those. Change the batch file contents (right click - edit) and replace all instances of the incorrect path to the correct one.

Also make sure you're running Texmod through Origin. Once the batch copies the files you must then start ME3 from inside Origin, THEN press any button in the batch, THEN start the game through Texmod.

Been thinking about the most "efficient" additions for the mod that are annoying to run in Texmod, stuff that "might" come up. I've listed either niche things that pop up that makes it annoying to have to constantly run it or very large textures like the Reaper Destroyer.

"Common Guns" that appear in cutscenes that no one actually uses:

1. Weapon M-8 Avenger
2. Weapon M-92 Mantis
3. Predator

This could also include weapons used by enemies like the Hornet or Raptor that very few users actually use.

Non-Named "World" NPCs:

4. Alliance Suit Standard (staff of Normandy)
12. Textures of Lines in high Resolution for Asari Counselor and female people
13. Default Salarian Tunic in High Resolution
15. Formal Uniform of the Alliance in High Resolution
25. Turian Soldiers Armor in High Resolution
31. Armor Alliance Soldiers in high Resolution
37. Quarians Suits Male and Female + Blood

Rare NPCs:

10. Aria
14. Wrex

World Building:

4. Reaper Ships
???. Reaper Destroyer (in Skydrive)
Rachni Queen (skydrive)

I'd also suggest that casual suit of armor you wear at the beginning of the game that is hideously pixelated. I can't remember the exact name of it but it also has a bloody version and you use it for a long time and unfortunately can't get rid of it for awhile without modding. Think it's combat fatigues but when I unzipped it there wasn't a bloody version...I have it so it exists somewhere.

Not requesting these, just listing examples of the "kind" of things that would make good inclusion for your mod Salt. Know you're studying and such.

These mods look great!
However, I've run into a problem trying them. I start Texmod from Origin and all that work around jazz, load the mods, wait forever for it to start, but when it does, there's no connection to the servers. I definitely have internet connectivity, and I think I've narrowed it down to the number/size of the mods being loaded.

I had a surf through these forums and the internet in general but there's already so many disconnect threads... Just wondering if anyone else was having this issue and/or knows how to fix it?

In all these months, it happened to me once, and I think that was solved after a few moments and not seemed to be a problem of Texmod.... I think is a EA servers problem or perhaps is Origin and its a lot of problems. :P
