It wouldn't surprise me, but if I use a certain number of mods, it works all the time, and if I go over that, it always says "servers unavailable".  

So no fix or workaround that you've used to fix it?  Or does it just work eventually?

One solution is if you want to play single player disable the Internet before you start the game. Then it won't verify servers. Load up a game and then alt+tab out and re-enable the Internet.

If you want to play MP? ...Not sure. I don't encounter that error. Can you connect to the servers without Texmod and/or the FXAA Tool, essentially force repeat the error? You could try running Texmod with no mods and tell us what you get back.

EDIT: How many mods is that "number" approximately?

Unfortunately, I do want to play multiplayer :P It strikes me as odd that it instantly fails. It never actually looks for the server. Almost like the connection is being overridden or something by texmod.

Without texmod it works fine, and I don't use the FXAA tool. This happens very consistently with full number of mods. Without mods at all, but through texmod, it also works fine. Using under 7 or so also works perfectly. But 8? Nope. Instant grey screen rubbish, and clicking connect also doesn't work.

Makes me sad :(

You hit a problem at 8 and you get a grey screen error?

Do you have very bad specs for your computer? (If so, post them?)

No no, sorry I wasn't clear. It's the greyish "EA servers are unavailable" message, where you click ok. Then it takes me back to the menu. I've tried to click connect, but it instantly comes up with the unable to connect message again.

My computer is fine :)

I've honestly never heard of that error before (perhaps someone else has?). The only thing that could come to mind is it may not be the number of mods you're running but one of the mods you use when you go past 7. Try downloading some different mods (just random ones) and try loading them, see if you get the same error. The only "broken" mods that caused problems I know of are Wadres' old ones, like his reaper destroyer, banshee, etc. or perhaps you have a corrupted download?

Thanks for the help PK. I've been lurking here for a while and I haven't seen anyone with this problem either.

I have done as suggested, and tested some mod configurations. I've found a set that works all the time, but as soon as I add another (any other), it fails. I have noticed that this happens when ME3 is using over 1.5GB of RAM. I don't suppose I was supposed to use some LAE patch on it?

Otherwise, if its not a space/size thing, it must be a number of mods thing right? Unless some of the 'working' ones are somehow messing with others I add...

EDIT:  Ok, it's (almost) definitely a size thing.  I seem to be able to load any number of mods, as long as the RAM usage of MassEffect3.exe doesn't exceed 1.52gb.

I think the intension of all has been to share and improve the game for everyone.



By the way, I read that the next ME4 will be developed in the Frostbite 2 graphics engine.

Texmod apparently does not work on that new engine, but if this is allowed (to Bioware) have high resolution textures, will be great for everyone, as there is a verison of "FXAA TOOL" compatible with Frostbite 2 and DX11 (the same as used in BF3).

Hopefully Bioware really think in PC users for ME4.

FB2 supports 8192×8192. If we make HR textures I guess we all need new CPU and GPU ...

Anyway I should take a look at threads about HR textures for other FB2 games at present.

Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a mod that gives the "M-96 Mattock N7 Dark Edition in High Resolution" treatment (found in the first page of this thread) to the Cerberus Harrier? All I can find is the "Silver" version of the harrier but I wanted something that made it look more like the N7 weapons.

Maybe I can try to do that.. I have the PSD files of the silver version...give me some hours for finish some updates of character that I´m doing right now, and I will try that Dark version for the Harrier.. ;)

Unreal supports 8192. You're still never going to see that size textures on anything, because devs aren't going to waste the time making them. The only game to ever use  larger than 2048 on anything was AvP 2010 and the Witcher 2 for CERTAIN textures, and games made with the id5 engine.

I wanted to do a playthrough with just N7 weapons for symbolical reasons but I prefer full-auto rifles to burst rifles like the valkyrie and even though the N7 Mattock looks really nice I don't think it will fit the cerberus centurions that will be gunning at me :P

What it turned out very well was the color black .. therefore, I will begin to upload all the files I updated today, including a version Dark Edition for the Harrier.

Ah, excellent. Thanks Smarteck - these nice Cerberus updates right as I approach Thessia.

The new husk is interesting. I like the older one a lot too, but maybe I'm just used to it. I'll have to do a comparison in game to see which one I'll use.

EDIT: New husk is awesome. Difference in coloration threw me off a bit, but it does indeed look more visceral and "real." Especially compared to:

So, I've run in to a small problem here. I think I am trying to use too many textures for the game to launch. Every time I try to launch the game it goes to a black screen for about 15 minutes (normal right?) However, what isn't normal is that I get a "Mass Effect 3 has stopped working" message every single time I've tried. Last time I came through here and got all the files I wanted it worked just fine.

Also, to Smarteck, Thanks for making the game look 10x better and for providing a "hub" for all the other HD textures. Now if only I could get it to work again.

I'm running Win7 - 64bit
i7-3820
32 GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GTX 560

I don't think it's performance related.

Here I can share my experience:

I had that problem before, and movement after much searching I discovered the cause. You see, to create a MOD, the creator can choose the format of the image (texture) that will be in the files "tpf", if for example, the new texture is in JPEG format, it is most likely that this MOD is the culprit of the problem.

It happened to me with a pack of textures for N7 weapons, I stop using it and problem solved. After I discovered this, I started to change the format of all the MODs that I had made (change format to dds) and there are no more problems, at least for me.

Therefore, of the MODs I have published, prefer those that are marked as "Optimized 2" and if you're using MODs created by other users, add them one by one so that you will discover the culprit.

On the other hand, maybe you're carrying too many files, I'm using something like 66 simultaneously (using "Master File C" for structures and things), that with 1.5GB memory Vcard and 8GB RAM.

Starts using only the "Optimized 2" files, so you to discard, until discover the culprit of your problem.

Also, if you are using the MOD of illumination ("FXAA TOOL"), remember to delete or rename the file "IGO32.dll" in the folder of Origin, otherwise you will have the error that you're mentioning at the beginning of the game. Sometimes Origin is updated automatically and regenerate this dll file.


Today I've finally started my second game in story mode, but this time with all the textures finished and everything looks great, the first time everything looked very bad...was not a very good experience. :?


I hope you find the solution and enjoy the game with the best visual appearance.

I'm sure this has already been asked, and you might even be working on it (I'm too lazy to go through the pages and check), but I was wondering if you were planning on doing Ashley's default armor, especially a dark edition. When I saw Kaiden's I got really excited, but then I realized that I killed him in my most recent play through.
