Aha! This sounds exactly like the issue I was having a page or so ago.  The grey screen that says something about EA servers being unavailable?  And clicking connect on the main screen doesn't help?

It could be done. The problem is it probably wouldn't look quite right. The scars on the face are dynamically changed depending on your renegade score. A texture mod for the body wouldn't be able to reproduce that. You'd have to create several different versions for different renegade levels and the user would have to choose between them all the time.

You talking about something like this? Don't worry, I'm working on it.

And speaking of, it's come to my attention that the last patch (V2) was somewhat, ahem, broken. Everything went okay up until the DLC patch and then it seems I forgot to take out a line of debugging code. Sorry about that folks! Bottom line is that all the mods should be installed except for the Retaliation DLC Fix for the Marauders.

If you did install that previous version then you can use this small fixer program to fix up that DLC. It's only 5MB. If it says anything about having already installed the mod just click continue.

For those of you who didn't already install that broken version, then this is the new version of V2. It should fix the DLC problem. Use that one if you've only installed V1.

You can only do so much to the physical textures. Only so much can be done with normal mapping to raise details for scars. Beyond that skin is extremely hard to work with.

for those ppl get that message and dont know why. It means that there is a timeout from the EA server. most liky from slow internet connection.

I never could make uMod work. I think it's terrible software. It tries to do too much and ends up doing nothing very well. But as far as Origin is concerned there are times where it won't connect. I get that once in awhile on some of my machines. Usually rebooting the machines fixes it.

I tried uMod once.

I respected Texmod's flaws more afterward. : V

I doubt uMod will become "good" before Salt's project finishes.

Naturally. It was one of the first things I did.

I just grabbed the alternate appearance pack. I haven't seen EDI in game yet but I've seen Garrus and Liara. Wow, all I have to say is I love the new outfits. Too bad they need texture work. I'll take Garrus's armor. It's basically Terminus Armor for Turians. I can make it match up with the Terminus Armor that I did for Shepard.

Texture for Ashley "Dark Edition" is done. Still having some technical issues with it though. No matter what I do it always appears blue in game.

I just downloaded it. I've already pulled Liara and Garrus's textures. If you need any of them and don't want to buy the pack, I'll send you the textures and I can test them. I'm going to do Garrus's armor because it's basically the Terminus Armor and I want it to match the one I did before basically. I'd love to work on Liara's but I won't have time for that anytime soon.

I had the same problem with Kaidan, to remove the blue, you have to remove the alpha channel in the file of Illumination (or reflections, I forget the technical name). just save that file in DXT1.

I figured you'd have the answer after having done the same thing. Awesome. That will be ready shortly. The Garrus armor from the new appearance pack will take some time though.

OK, so DXT1 isn't working to get rid of the blue. In fact anything but DXT-5 produces some really odd results with the lighting.

The DirectX SDK tool shows that Kaiden's light map is DTX5. More specifically Four CC 8-bit DTX5.

 I was wrong, :P ... make the alpha channel completely black and will solve the problem. To leave black and reopen the file in Photoshop not showed the alpha channel, so I thought I was in DXT1, but no... is a DXT5 with completely black alpha channel.

Tested. ;)

Okay I figured out how to mod my own textures so I could mod the new armor.

Bit of a problem though. I cant get rid of the Cerberus logo despite having removed it in gimp. Is there another texture over it or am I doing something wrong?
