Hey folks, been a while since I posted here (I prefer to get my textures in bulk). I'm having a problem with the mods in that, well, they keep crashing the game. Or rather, the game won't even start up. Now, I remember it being mentioned a while back that an update to Origin could cause the game to crash unless a certain file was deleted.
Anyone happen to remember what that file was so that I don't have to wade through 162 pages of this topic?
All help is appreciated and thanks in advance.
Well you can't run more than about 60 mods at once. Less depending on how large they are and what your computer can handle. The unfortunate reality is that Texmod has limitations and those limitations prevent us from using more than about 1.0GB worth of mods, 2048 textures, and no single TPF can contain more than about 256 textures I believe.

" Think during Leviathan where everytime the camera angle changed, the model changed. I know we are on the brink of replacing models since Liara's head was replaced by Garrus' as a test."
That's a single mesh being permanently replaced though, changing it and altering camera angles to something more like Leviathian would be a lot harder to do simply because the Catalyst only has one mesh during the whole sequence.
And yeah, I've thought about replacing him entirely with a more Harbinger/Reaper like figure. Really anything would be a lot better. The whole tone of that scene is just...terrible...the voice acting literally needs to be re-recorded by someone else, it's unbearably stupid with that kid's voice in it.
"Added pics to the above post as well as download links. As always everything I've done can be found here."
Lies, there is no UPS Shepard. Clearly that's your greatest achievement. We need it in 8192.
Currently the UPS Shepard mod is based on Smartek's Cerberus high resolution outfit. I'd have to redo the shoulder to release it. The shoulder is mirrored on the left side so UPS is spelled backwards there. I'd have to ditch it if I were to release it. The mod is also coded to replace the Cerberus outfits. You have to modify the coalesced.bin to add an out fit for that one to replace otherwise it would replace all the alliance male uniforms. Something I doubt anyone wants to do.
I didn't even bother with a normal map. I just created that to take that one screenshot.

I think we should start an ending hate here. Also, let's blame this all on Smarteck too, if he doesn't change the ending we won't support him anymore. How about that?
To be honest though, I wish Extended Cut HD would be possible. Pity slides aren't in fullhd

I love you!
ME2 is my favorite game in the trilogy and has the least amount of "love" in terms of texture edits. (There's an entire rehaul pack for ME1, this thread for ME3 and...not much for ME2.)

What rehaul pack for ME1?
Only one's I have are from JeanLuc. I have a ton of ME2 mods that are from threads like these.

What do you mean limitations, I've never had issues with 2048 textures specifically in any of the games.Dead_Meat357 wrote...

Nice. I've been thinking about porting some mods over that can be used in both games like the Revenant and the M-98 Widow.
Waiting for that and thanks...

@Ottemis: As you're aware, inside each *.tpf are multiple textures. Supposedly if you hit 2048 textures, not 2048 *.tpfs, then it just crashes.
Been doing that too with armor, it's a nice bonus, saves effort reap more benefit. *does little dance*Dead_Meat357 wrote...

Environments in ME2 weren't that bad really, except for a few ambient objects like that "holed" crate on a pile of crates you see on Freedom's Progress and some other places. Stuff like the Reaper ship and Overlord's driving hub hold up pretty well, especially compared to some of the bizarrely low-res environments in ME3.
ME2 generally has pretty nice textures actually. There's a only a few things in it that are bad that haven't been touched by modders, like the car interior from Garrus' mission and light mechs that are blurry/ugly and get a bunch of close ups of that stupid 3 pixel "M" on their forehead.
Jean-Luc's ME2 character work of course`is a must, given the comparison...s. The original looks like it was drawn in crayon.

Dunno if this is normal, but filtered, uh, normals in texmod logging mode show up in this very dark blue hue, maybe that have something to do with it. Textures I swapped were of regular kind (and it's not that I'm doing it for the first time, done few texmods in the past, so I'm sure everything was ok).
(edit: pic added)
@Otte: nope, I'm, aiming in normal only this time, so everyone can use it with any diffuse mod they want. I achieved that with inferior software (pic - I'm using Elise's retex for diffuse as you see, totally in love with it), so I thought I can put it into the game too, had few ideas, but those I tried were unsuccessful.
(edit2: godsdamn English)

Question, did anyone tried to retexture eye lens normal map so it could resemble ME2 lens more? I tried few things, but no success. ME3 eyes are odd flat looking.

Don't know if she touched the normals, but the result is there nonetheless.

Speaking of textures, the N7 Defender Armor got some updates. I can't help myself I guess. I redid the reactor thing on the back and a couple of minor areas. Normal Map is totally new as well.

Also the text under the N7 logo has been redone. Given I had no idea what was supposed to be their originally I had to make that up as I went along. The reactor improvement will be added to the Desert Defender variant as well. One final note is that the helmet lights will appear red unless you access the Defender with coalescd.bin modifications and set it up so you can use the armor independently regardless of the chosen helmet. That will give you control over the lights. I simply matched the lighting color for both the helmet and the armor.
You can get the new version of the armor here.
New M-98 Widow as promised. ME2 version incoming soon.

Kinda of the same reason I don't like the normal Ajex armor and hwy I love the Spectre version. Cerberus stuff was ok in ME2 but it feels wrong in ME3, it's hard to explain.Dead_Meat357 wrote...
It's a Cerberus weapon. Why is the symbol dumb? Personally I like the way the gun looks. Though I'm not a huge fan of the white color.
