For some reason, even though it's a bit uglier in this case, I often like playing with the default colors.

Thanks for both of the options.

I rarely take a whole lot of artistic license with anything. So when I do I think it's important to have an option for people who don't like it.

As long as there are no massive errors in the linked program that will go live today or  tomorrow I'd say as version 89.

The complete instructions for use are here. They should tell you everything you need to know. Use the easy version if you don't understand everything there. By the way, the latest version should allow you to use the hi-res textures without modifying your Coalesced, which is kind of nice.

Do you have any mirrors for TPF Extract and its GUI? The files you've linked to aren't available and all of the browsing I've done links back to the same downloads.
Thanks.

Hi,

Found this by FileCrop and it works!

You guys should check out SaltIsGood's latest release of ME3 Explorer. You can finally replace ANY texture you want with the program, blows TexMod's long 100-million-minutes-of-waiting-for-MassEffect3-to-start out of the water with instant start up, AND you can add in as many textures as you like, even if you are running less than 1 GB of memory on your video card!

That's a couple of revisions old now. The latest version, which I'll link here, is probably going to become the next full release of ME3 Explorer. I just tested the new version and tried a MP soldier and works very well and the process is much simpler and faster than previous versions.

A query, if the game is updated, do the textures will return to the low resolution? and if so, which files should be to back up after been edited (I ask to not lose all the work done).

Thank you! :D

EDIT:

In the second test I was not so good .. the game could not load one of the textures and the Multiplayer was completely ruined.

Fortunately I had backed up the entire folder in case of a problem and I've solved restoring the default folder, I think for now I will continue using texmod. :P

Maybe I just had bad luck, thanks anyway for that information.

Saludos. ;)

Here is the update I promised for Ashley. A dark edition is definitely in the works. Below are the gold and silver versions. The silver version was created because I can't stand gold for the most part and because I wanted her to look more like her high poly model does in the Take Back Earth trailer.

 Pure awesomeness:wizard:.

To answer your question, yes Origin will revert everything back to the stock textures if it updates it. You just stop it by telling it to not automatically update the game. Since patches are so infrequent it's not really an issue.

Edit: And to answer the second part of your question, the files you would have to backup after editing are the *.pcc files that contain the texture2d objects (e.g. BioH_Tali_00.pcc for Tali's Default Appearance) and the texture caches that contain the actual textures themselves (e.g. CharTextures.tfc). The easiest way would be to just go into your CookedPCConsole folder, order by Date Modified and just find the latest modified files. The only other important file is the PCConsoleTOC.bin file, which is in the BIOGame folder. But you can just run the TOC.bin updater tool in ME3 Explorer to update that whenever.

As for your problem, do you mind if I just query you by PM to try and find out what happened? I need to know about any bugs before release.

And speaking of, the actual public release may have to wait for another couple of days. The version I linked earlier is pretty much the final product. There are a couple of bug fixes and more error handling in the latest version. But WarrantyVoider also wants me to optimise the external saved file that I use to quickly load up the texture information. Apparently 250MB is a bit over the top. :P

Edit 2: Over 200,000 thread views! Way to go guys!

:D !!

I'm trying again with ME3Explorer 281. I'm focused on textures on MP, tomorrow I will try to add the enemies.
On this occasion it seems to be working well, maybe, before I made some mistake. The process to find all the files still take some time, but it is a very good option to free up some memory over Texmod.

Thanks. ;)

Well I have a bit of a funny odd issue. Followed the instructions and loaded up the character mods since I don't mind the terrain too much but the only character that got modded was EDI and no one else.
I don't think it's a memory issue either since Im running only the character mods on 4GBs but yet the game and texmod both only run using 1.5GBs combined total. Also I did have to wait like usual with these sort of mods.

Do you have "Origin in the game" function (overlay) enabled or disabled?

Try disabling that (No Origin Overlay in game).

Let us know if you fix the problem.

It didnt.
The only textures that do work are the one saltisgood made into packs and the only one texmod changes is EDI

I hope to have a new version of Liara's From Ashes DLC armor later today which will have better shading on it and some tweaked details. I will also hopefully finish up Ashley's version of that armor today as well. (At some point.)

I never disable that and haven't had any problems with it. Then again I do not run the FXAA tool. I don't care for what it does to the lighting and with newer NVIDIA cards and drivers you can enable TxAA in ME3 and virtually eliminate all jagged edges.

I tried it with and without FXAA tool. No difference.:(

And the problem your having is that you can't use multiple textures? Try removing the one that loads from the list. See if that helps. Sometimes there needs to be a certain priority list with some mods. Some are flat out incomplatible because of shared resources. The Black Widow and M-98 Widow for example share the same normal map. The M-6 Carnifex and the M-77 Paladin share the same normal map as well. So having both of those together creates problems. The one with higher priority gets loaded and the lower priority item will either look stock or look strange.

Some mods may also cause issues if all the files contained within are not in the proper format. This is typically only an issue with our early mods and not ones we've made in the last several months.

I might just go ahead and redownload and not use salt's patcher at all since it seems that some of his textures corrupted or something. Was wondering why the game went haywire on me then to open the switcher to get a crapton of errors.

Just my luck, I some how make thing not work

So far I've had issues with the Texplorer utility. Fine if your replacing stock texture sizes but it doesn't seem to want to upscale. I need to play with it a bit more though and make sure I'm not doing things wrong.

I may or may not get Ashley and Liara's from Ashes DLC armors done today. May still be possible but they are tons of work. It's an ugly texture which has an even worse normal map. On one hand I finally got a texture added to the breath mask so it doesn't look like a force field anymore. It actually looks plastic or something now.

Love all the work everyone has put into these mods, just a quick question though. I'm confused on how to use the Omega HD pack, could someone breakdown the process for me?

New version of Liara's from Ashes DLC armor is ready. Just have to compile screenshots and upload it. And I'm actually almost done with Ashley's. It was surprisingly easy to modify Liara's textures to look right for Ashley. So they will both be done tonight.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their great work in this thread!

I was wondering if anyone would be able to produce a texture edit for Tech Armor, specifically changing the color.

This was done in Mass Effect 2, as shown in the link below:

http://social.biowar...m/project/2419/

Something similar for ME3 would be great.

Thanks!

Wow, 172 pages and going. Read some today at work but it's an incredible amount of info.

Does any one of you awesome modders have a listing on which textures are whom? I successfully swapped Ashley with Texplorer, but I'm having a hard time finding others and I wanted to swap them all out -_-
