well, this is weird. The game re-started to crash, at the comunication with hackett after mars. Going to try to skip that area without mods, and activate them later.

If ME3 does crash during a game, is likely to be because of some not optimized MOD. You test again but this time only load files containing the legend "OPTIMIZED 2" in the name.

This problem is generated by using textures with format which is not DDS, as for example in JPG. It is something that falls just those who create the MODs. To prevent this problem is always advisable to create MODs using DDS as the final format.

For that on first page I put this:

" IMPORTANT:
To prevent crashes, prefers to use the files marked as "OPTIMIZED 2": With the same quality in high resolution, but in a new format with less memory consumption and more friendly game engine. You will find the files of contributions (Zona D), in optimized format in Skydrive site. "


EDIT:

The MODs that most generate such problems are those created by the user "wadres", these are excellent visual quality, but unfortunately they are in JPG, leading to such problems in the game. I've taken the time to optimize those mods and put them in Skydrive, in the folder of contributions.

I've seen ME3Explorer can import new textures directly into the game files, any chance of your textures getting the direct import treatment?

Well, it's not modding that makes me crash. I tried launching the game without any of them, and i still crash at that point....it never happened before....any idea?


SOLVED it seems. Looks like there was a problem with the coalesced.bin file. Odd enough, it never happened before

So I posted here a day ago, found out one of the mods I was trying to run wasn't optimized at all and thusly crashing the game. Got that problem fixed.

Also as far as the N7 Defender Armor goes, I discovered the mod I downloaded from here was why it was Green instead of black + muted reflection map. So I went and got the textures I needed with texmod and did some tweaking of my own and came up with something that looks really good but I can't seem to get the Specular map right.

As you can see, it has this weird two-tone shade going and it shifts anytime the camera moves around. Typically the right side of the armor stays a blue shade while the left is always a muted black.

Any tips on creating a new specular map from scratch?

:huh: It looks as if the reliefs file (normal map), is in the wrong format, eg DXT1 .. must be in V8U8.

You're the only person to mention such a problem so the most likely problem is a file conflict; not something wrong within the file itself.

Hmmm, I'm having trouble with TexMod it seems. I've been try to troubleshoot it on my own but I can't seem to figure it out.

I load all the textures I have (28 textures or so) and press run. The game gets a window on the taskbar and I wait for the game to open (haven't timed it, I usually go do something while I wait. XD). But here's the problem, the window on the taskbar closes after a while and the game never runs.

I'm not sure if I'm running too many textures, or if there's a conflict with the ones I have, or the load order for that matter.

I've tried it with one or two textures and it works fine, and I've also tried it without any of the recent ones I downloaded still no luck.

Would the ENB Cinema Mod be the cause at all? http://social.biowar...8/index/9346212

Any suggestions?

Could you do something about the aiming cursor possibly please? I don't know much about the games texures or anything, but I wanted to ask since it blends too well into the background, and a few choices to choose from to differentiate the cursor from what you're trying to aim it at would help me very much bigtime. If theres a post out there with this same question or such, just slap me and paste the link. please. xD

Make sure you aren't running any overlays with the ENB mod, the game won't start up otherwise. (Fraps, EVGA Precision X, ect).

Also, try renaming IGO32.dll in your origin folder to IGO32.dll.null or something and see if it launches. If not, rename it back.

Would you believe me if I said I got it working just a bit after posting my original comments?  Go figures.  LOL  I messed around with the load order and that seemed to fix it. hehe
