Can you open through Steam so you don't skip over Texmod? Like to take pictures....

That was my experiece running HD6850's in xfire on a q6600 platform - i recently got a gtx 670 and have seen a major improvement...when budgets allow will upgrade to i5 platform which should be even better...hate to say it but the green monster whips the red devil

and create normal maps for it (especially accentuating the carbon fiber pattern) ?
I would also recommend using this texture as a base for similar textures (Vega's helmet, Ashley, Liara, etc.) if anyone wants to try going back and revising previous textures.

I'll run them through, but at the same time, you should also do it too.

Install the free trial, make a bumpmap you like (it's very easy) and then show me, I'll apply it in-game and test untill we get one that you like.
Once we get the one you like, I'll package it with the texture mod.

It is not true. At least not for everyone. I have a Radeon HD 7970 in one machine and it runs the game just fine. Some cards have slower, or smaller memory buses and in some cases insufficient memory for the resolutions people run the game at. Texmod compounds the problem by eating up the VRAM with textures. Some cards do not perform well under these circumstances. Many people equate memory with performance and while it is a factor, it's not the only factor which determines the performance of a video card. A Radeon HD 7770 for example has **** for memory bandwidth compared to the Radeon HD 7970.
Here are the specifications of a Radeon HD 7970.
[*]Up to 925MHz Engine Clock
[*]3GB GDDR5 Memory
[*]1375MHz Memory Clock (5.5Gbps GDDR5)
[*]264GB/s memory bandwidth (maximum)
[*]3.79 TFLOPS Single Precision compute power
[*]947 GFLOPS Double Precision compute power
[*]GCN Architecture
- 32 compute units (2048 Stream Processors)
- 128 Texture Units
- 128 Z/Stencil ROP Units
- 32 Color ROP Units
- Dual Geometry Engines
- Dual Asynchronous Compute Engines (ACE)
Here are the specifications of a Radeon HD 7770:
[*]1000MHz Engine Clock
[*]Up to 2GB GDDR5 Memory
[*]1125MHz Memory Clock (4.5 Gbps GDDR5)
[*]72GB/s memory bandwidth (maximum)
[*]1.28 TFLOPS Single Precision compute power
[*]GCN Architecture
- 10 Compute Units (640 Stream Processors)
- 40 Texture Units
- 64 Z/Stencil ROP Units
- 16 Color ROP Units
- Dual Asynchronous Compute Engines (ACE)
[*]128-bit GDDR5 memory interface
I have highlighted what's important between the two of these with regard to Texmod performance. The last thing you didn't see listed in the 7970 specs is that it has a 384bit memory interface, not a 128bit. This is why the bandwidth is crap on the Radeon HD 7770. Now GeForce cards have a different memory architecture entirely so I didn't want to compare apples to oranges. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and comparing different architectures directly doesn't always paint the whole picture, but comparing two cards using the same base architecture does.
Now considering price the Radeon HD 7770 shouldn't be expected to keep pace with a 7970. They are about $250-$300 cheaper. But many people see that cards like the 7770 have almost as much VRAM as the more expensive ones and think the difference won't be that big. But it is.
Now compare something closer in price:
[*]860MHz Engine Clock
[*]2GB GDDR5 Memory
[*]1200MHz Memory Clock (4.8 Gbps GDDR5)
[*]153.6GB/s memory bandwidth (maximum)
[*]1.76 TFLOPS Single Precision compute power
[*]GCN Architecture
- 16 Compute Units (1024 Stream Processors)
- 64 Texture Units
- 128 Z/Stencil ROP Units
- 32 Color ROP Units
- Dual Geometry Engines
- Dual Asynchronous Compute Engines (ACE)
[*]256-bit GDDR5 memory interface
OK now, the 7870, while considerably slower than the 7970 has more respectible performance. Many people will just look at the VRAM between the 7770 and the 7870 and conclude they are nearly the same. Both have 2GB of VRAM.. But the fact of the matter is the 7870 is world's ahead of the 7770.
Many of the people complaining about Texmod performance are using lower end and mid-range hardware. Some people either can't afford the higher end hardware or would rather spend their money elsewhere. Nothing wrong with that. But certain applications and usage scenarios will bring out the weaknesses of your system. A video card with less VRAM, or less VRAM bandwidth will get punished running 1GB worth of textures via Texmod.

Hey guys, I figured I'd contribute with my first SP mod. The Citadel Council (Sparatus, Tevos, Valern and Udina) + various NPCs. These should also work for other notable characters like Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani, Dalatrass Linron, Domonic Osoba, Henry Lawson, random NPCs around the Citadel and I'm sure others I can't remember right now. I included 3 versions since between ME1>ME2>ME3 the codes for the textures have changed.

I'll update this post with the ME1 and ME2 versions of this mod when i go through and get their codes.

I'm not sure how possible it is to transfer ME3 textures (of these anyway) into ME1/2 since they changed the UVmaps on them. It's obviously the same mesh but they remapped it.The Darkest Soul wrote...

It's like he has aged backwards and wears a different outfit
Same with Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani's hair style.

@ The Darkest Soul - Most of those files should transition just fine into ME2, you probably don't have to bother about ME1 as CDAMJC included council textures in his overhaul.
